I think that Caitlin is a viable possibility, as she made a cameo in the Sinnoh game series. As a result, she could act as a bridge to the previous season of Sinnoh. While I would also like to see Karen and Will bridge Unova to Sinnoh, the Johto series was so long ago that I do not think that it will be brought up again. Even the episodes with Lyra and Khoury lacked the full bridging of seasons as I had hoped for.
