Anyway, it realistically is up to a matter of taste since nothing is 'better' than something else, so everything will be opiniated here.

To note, I have not seen Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040, so I know little to nothing more than what is given at ANN.

As to which one is the better series (from both my own personal biasis and, in this case, ignorance) to me would be Neon Genesis Evangelion. Why, though (despite my not seeing the other series)? Ugh, if I had to type up every reason as to why I like Evangelion, then I would write pages after pages considering that I glorify both that and Berserk (the original manga version). If you or anyone else honestly wants to know, then I might be able to come up with something in another post...

(I wouldn't be surprised if that series gets a bunch of undeserved votes because people got it confused for the original Bubblegum Crisis.)

Well, apparently there is either no confusion or else people just simply haven't seen it, which wouldn't be surprising.

... On a related note, I'm figurin' to check out some older anime series since I'm doing a similar theme with movies and music. Yanno, older ones like Bubblegum Crisis, Mobile Suit Gundam, Space Runaway Ideon (I'll have to rely on fansubs for that one, though >_>). Quality is few and far between with mainstream titles, so it's best to dig deep (as in any case with entertainment art form).

Luckily I already know how it ends, otherwise I would be chewing your a*s out for that one. ;D And fittingly, it draws from Freud (obviously), and Tomino's own creation definitely influenced Anno's Evangelion, and while the endings for the two [spoil]are of the same scheme, they end results are polar opposites.[/spoil]

Ah, old school anime is so grand, wouldn't you agree?
