Yeah, ok!
I'll have to wait until the Grand Festival and Hoenn league finish in the U.S. before I decide. It's probably a little early to put up this poll since most people haven't seen the Grand Festival/Hoenn league yet...best to wait till after those arcs air...

I just keeping Octo
The Orange Islands. There's nothing like a full six on six battle and Ash's Orange Orange league is one of my top favorites. Hoenn league comes in a close second.

All of them rocked XD,As long as Satoshi is in it ^__^

My main consensus:

Kanto League: A few decent matchups here and there, although most included baby pokemon. And let us never forget Ash's humiliating loss from a disobedient Charizard.

Orange League: A cool battle with cool pokemon. But only one battle didn't offer so much. I was happy Ash won this mini league or else it would've been a huge waste.

Whirl Islands: No, just no. That league of water types was pretty pathetic.

Johto League: So much plot development between Ash and Gary not to mention the climactic battles with Blastoise and Blaziken.

Hoenn League & Grand Festival: Never actually seen these myself but judging by pictures I doubt it'll match up to the Johto league. Only because not too much of a story except Ash fighting some random trainers. But, I guess I will have to wait until they air to truly judge. But for now, I'll have to go with the Johto league.

The Hoenn League is badly animated and rushed like hell, as is the Grand Festival. The one cool thing about these is that every pokemon on the Hoenn teams gets a chance to shine at least once.

EDIT: Except Torkoal. See how forgettable it was?

Should the Orange Islands really count? It wasn't a tornament as such, it was just a full 6 vs. 6 battle.

Despite the last two battles resorting to the awful one hit KO fest that was festering during Harrisson's match in the Silver Convention, and the fact that Torkoal got the royal shaft, I think the EverGrande Houen league was handled pretty well.
We got some interesting preliminary round battles from Masamune and Tetsuya. When compared to watching Ash battle a Furret in Johto, there's a significant difference in quality.
And a lot of the later battles in the league were put together really nicely also. I don't think anyone is ever going to forget the incredible fighting techniques and interesting battle strategy displayed by one Kaede. Hyuuga and Tomomo also get honerable mentions.
The fact that we also got to see a lengthy example of Masamune's battling skill was also a big plus.

Johto was awesome though, I'll give it that.

I'd have to say Indigo leage. The reason being because it was new at that time the beginning. I remember being in 5th grade when it first aired and i was so hyped up. lol. The people ash battled were great, like mandy for one. Krabby evolving and winning 3 straight pulling out hyper beam was just amazing at that time. Pikachu boxing bellsprout, man was i laughing, and then muk just slamming on it. The whole experience was rather new and handled perfectly. Although there is one thing about the indigo league that hits my heart up to date today, and that is the way ash lost to richie. I've said it before one of the reasons i still watch the anime is to see ash put richie in his place. Still hoping for the rematch.

Hoenn League and Grand Festival, Orange Islands, Whirl Cup, Indigo, and Silver Conference....Yeah. I'm a League whore. D:

So...all of them, then?

I love pokemon leagues too much to vote for any of them... it would be an insult to the good leagues of which I have often dreamed.

And, to be fair, Hoenn and the GF would have been superb have they both been about three episodes longer each. May's battles against Harley and Drew should have taken up a whole episode each, by extending the battles and having more time between the battles for that great character development that both deserve! And Snorunt and TR could have had more time, too! And Ash's battles against Morrison and Tetsuya (who should have the dub name Gene or Eric, preferably) could have both been far longer and less "explosion causes tie" and OHKO based. And Ash could have even had another battle at some point and got to the Top 4.

In fact, I've got a new discussion idea! Which early-BF fillers do you think were the most sacrificial in order to create a better league and GF? Anyone?

Hoenn League insta-wins for having Gligar and Glalie in it ;D Too bad there wasn't a Poliwrath; that would make one happy Admiral Snowstorm :D

Regardless of bias, I think the Hoenn League was the best. The battles were decent, at any rate. Kaede was awesome, we all agree on that much. The rest were nothing noteworthy, but they weren't awful either. Best rivals were in Hoenn, too =/

Can't really decide between Johto or the Indigo tournament. The Johto tourny was much better set up IMO with some really good battles, but Gary lost so that sucked.

I guess Houen's Saiyuu Tournament, for the reasons Gravy also mentioned. I mean, looking past the horrid rush-job at the end.... it's f*ckin' Kaede, man. What's not to like? There's also the fact that Masamune was Satoshi's most likeable main rival to date, and we got to see several of his battles beforehand. Nyaasu-in-boots was also pretty interesting.

Kantou ended on a very sucky note, Lizardon just falling asleep (I once again state, though, the Dengeki Pikachu version kicked all kinds of ass. Lizardon still costs Satoshi the league, but it's because it had to be recall after mercilessly attacking Hiroshi's Lizardon). Whirl Islands.... that entire mini-arc sucked. I too liked Satoshi's Orange Island team, and that was a pretty sweet battle, but I agree with what was said about it being just a single battle in the end. Grand Festival was good, but aside from the appeals round, all we really saw in their entirety were the battles against Harley and Shuu. Haruka vs. Tonpei and Shuu vs. Robert, we only caught the end, and all this was in a single episode, being shared with Satoshi's sideplot.

Jouto did resolve Satoshi's rivalry with Shigeru, but like Houen, it suffered to rushing problems in the last two matches (well.... maybe one-and-a-half. The first part of Shigeru's battle was good), and Jun'ichi and Moe aren't quite as likeable as Satoshi's opponents (and Tetsuya and Masamune's opponents, for that matter) in Saiyuu. I also think it sucked that this was basically a way for the Kantou starters to whore all the spotlight for the nth time (especially Zenigame, who seems to come in from supposedly nowhere immediately after Kingler's so conveniently taken out of the action).

I went with the Houen League. It was really enjoyable, although it and the Grand Festival could have used 1 or 2 more episodes each.

The Grand Festival, mainly because of Harley, Robert, and Drew :) I'd place the Johto League second. The battle between Ash and Gary was simply awesome (even though Gary lost).

I voted for the Hoenn League. It was a really great tournament, but it was pretty rushed and short.
