I’ve played all of the main series games and have all but one either on the 3DS VC or physical games. Emerald is the only game I’m missing as the copy I have is a fake.

I've played all the main games except Shield and Sword so I won't waste time listing all the main games I've played. But when it comes to the spin off games I've only played a few including Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2, Pokemon Dash, a couple of Mystery Dungeon games, Ranger 1, 2 and 3, Conquest and Battle Revolution.

I noticed a lot of people nowadays have nostalgia for Gen 4. Maybe they started playing rather late or they were rather young when it first came out?
