Which pokedex voice do you like better the old man voice or the new girl voice? By the way, in Japan was the Pokedex replaced by a female actress also when they started Hoenn?

anyway, I like the male voice just for old-schoolness. Though the female voice is great to...

the biggest difference between the japanese zukan and the english pokedex is that in the english version, they're personified and even given names like "Dexter" and "Dexette".

Some people don't like it, but I find it to be an interesting twist to otherwise artifical intelligence... somewhat

What I don't like about the dub Zukans is their annoying theme music that interrupts better music. But that's beside the point. I prefer the male pokédex voice, in both versions.

Actually, there are two "old" voices. One was for early Indigo, the other was for late Indigo and Johto. I prefer the second one.

I believe Rachael Lilis (the voice of Misty and Jessie) does the voice for the new Pokedex. I guess with Misty gone they decided to give her another role, via the Pokedex.

Agreed. The new voice sonds like a robot, so I say that the old voice is better.

I like the old old Pokedex voice of all the males. Dexette is nice, but the old old Dexter had, in some cases, humor.

But Dexette has a nicer remix of its Pokedex music. However, it is more gratuitous in certain situations so old old Dexter wins.

It's no contest. Out of the three Pokedex voices, the first one is the best. It was a perfect robot voice. After that, we got the Pokedex on helium and a Rachel Lillis robot. They were fine, but the first one was much better.

Of course back then, everything about the Pokedex was better. I remember when it used to make fun of Ash, like when it called him stupid in episode 1.

been a while since I watched the dub. Going by the Japanese version, I think I like the female voice better. I guess I'm just more used to anime computers having a feminine voice programmed into them. It's a shame it switches back to a male voice in Battle Frontier, though. I've said this before, a long time ago, but I think they should give one voice to Satoshi's and the other to Haruka's, have more variety that way.

I was wondering why everyone was saying the PokeDex had a female voice in the Original Version. Seeing as I only started watching Japanese episodes since the Battle Frontier Saga began, it's an honest mistake.

Anywhays, I prefer the New or "Dexette" PokeDex. I love the voice, it's so crisp and soothing, unlike the headache-inducing Dexter from Kanto >.>

Even though I liked the old pokedxe for the humor, the new voice is better. The old one was annoying, the new one is easier to listen to.
