Okay, I know this might be in one of the FAQs, or need to go in one of those FAQs, but I've searched for the past hour and I'd rather just ask.

I'm trying to hatch a shiny, and I'd like to try some Pokemon with smaller egg steps, so it hatches sooner, and I can move on faster if it's not shiny. So, which Pokemon has the least egg steps? Er, rather, the top five or top ten? (I wouldn't want a shiny that I didn't like, so if you know atleast the top or the top 2-10, please tell me ^ ^;; )

EDIT: Ah, I forgot; I mean any Pokemon, not just the ones in R/S/E; I'm just hatching them there.

Thanks.

I think baby pokemon have the lowest steps (igglybuff, pichu, magby etc). check the pokedex, and at the bottom theres an egg step rate. hope it helps and good luck!

Whoa. Those are low steps. (o_O; Thanks! Good thing too, 'cause I like the shiny Gyrados. Well, I'm off. ...Though, any other really low ones'd help too. ^ ^;
Magikarp is the lowest on egg hatching steps by far.... you can check the main page's dex (serebii.net for egg steps of any pokemon)

Magikarp is BY FAR THE LOWEST EGG STEPS! But the baby pokemon are right up there as well.

The baby pokemon are "right up there"? Shouldn't that be "right down there"?

Any way:

Try magikarp. Once you get it to gyrados, it is pretty good, even though it has a 4x weakness to electricity.

If you you use it for double battles, pair it with a ground poke with lightning rod, such as Marowak or Rhyhorn (or evolved forms)

If you're going for just any shiny Pokemon, wouldn't it be easier to just walk around in grass? You'll find more Pokemon that way than just by hatching eggs...

you can have a lot more effect on a pokemon's IVs/moves/(nature in emerald) if you hatch it than if you run into it in the wild.

You are right but I think he wants a shiny regardless of IV's and other things...since each step to breed is a chance to find a shiny in the wild. Choose breeding if you want a shiny poke, but choose getting it in the wild if you just want a shiny. That way you don't have to get a shiny Magikar/Gyrados

Magikarp: 1,280

No other Pokemon has this few egg steps.

No, no, I don't want just any old shiny. XD As I said in the first post, I just want a shiny that I like, that had few steps. That's the whole point. Though, in the mean time, I do search in the grass some, but right now I'm just working on specific ones. I just wanted to start with the one that I liked with the fewest steps. And instead of listing and searching for a hundred, I just wanted to know the few with the lowest, to see if one of the ones were ones that I liked.

Got me now? XD
