we cant tell at the time. How about once Sceptile at least has a proper battle with all of its moves known. Although I'd like to note that Sceptile had a more original evolution. I wont vote until the inevitable battle palace battle. Although I think Sceptile has a big potential to be better than Charizard. Also I cant wait to see this thread attacked by raging Charizard fans.

I like Charizard but why it is training with someone else (i saw the ep)but he could just train it hiself.I think Sceptile is better

Charific Valley is pretty much the equivalent to the breeder. Can train and gain new moves and Ash can call upon it whenever it wants.

Ash has used Charizard 4 times since he left it to train in the Charicific Valley. Why do people still refuse to count it as Ash's Pokemon?
A "released" Pokemon is one you get rid of and never see again (Butterfree, Primeape). A Pokemon that returns to Ash's team and that he has contact with obviously isn't part of that pile. Really, what's the difference between the Charicific Valley and Oaks? They're the same thing, except Charizard is actually training everyday unlike most of the Oak Pokemon.

As much as it pains my cold, black heart to admit. Ash's Sceptile is the epitome of 'friggin' cool'. I still much prefer Grovyle, but Sceptile managed to impress me. And there really is no competition between these two brutes. Sceptile >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Charizard in every stinkin' way possible. The end.

Umm but how does he call upon i recall the valley is in Johto and they are in Kanto.

Well since we havent seen a battle not even a TR battle we dont know what Sceptile's capable of.
Charizard can fly there at max speed. Anyway, I like both brutes but there is one thing I hate about Zard'. Its Seismic Toss finishing move. Pray Sceptile doesn't learn solar beam so we don't have an annoying repetitive finishing move on our hands.
Charizards a fire and flying type so it has the upper hand but Sceptile can always be packing thunderpunch, we'll have to see. I'd love to see them fight though.

AT the moment it looks like charizard is better (go charizard) and it is constantly training at the valley while Sceptile just forgot all his previous attacks...
I got a feeling charizard would be Ash's best because its been training as Ash's pokemon a lot longer than Sceptile (and evolved a lot earlier too).

I was wondering that and where swellow but, the point I think is to start the Charizard vs. Sceptile stuff. I'm suprised none of the Charizard freaks have come here and ranted how Charizard is the best and blah blah blah.

Sceptile. Ash's Charizard is the source of all the appaling Chariz00bism that has plagued the Pokemon fanbase and caused me so much grief. It's disgustingly overpowered, and worshipped as an 00ber, which sickens me. In the game, Charizard is a horrible battler with horrible typing and horrible stats. It's design is patheticly generic, and is overall just a fat, giraffe-headed iguana with cheesy wings and a bad colour. And yet the anime just had to shove this ''powerhouse'' in our face, making it look like a God amongst Pokemon and earning itself a pitiful n00bish fanbase.
I can't say I like Sceptile, but hopefuly it will grow on me once I see it battle. Besides, I love Grovyle and hate Charmander and Charmeleon as well.
