I liked Johto, but I didn't like Hoenn.
Wh you ask?
The pokemon themselves. They didn't seem like pokemon at all.
They were too awkward and didn't look organic.
Did you like the Hoenn pokemon?

In my eyes, they where payed more attention to then the Jhoto series, so I must say, they're an improvment, in some cases...

...though I might downgrade my thoughts on the 4th Generation...

Auraninja

I withdraw reluctantly.
Hoenn was awesome!

Castform
Metagross (Like it before everybody else.)
Mawile
Lunatone
Seviper
Sceptile
Salamance
Glalie
Delacatty
Jirachi
Tropius
Deoxys

The Hoenn generation gave us a lot of cool Pokemon, but I guess it's just an opinion...

This probably belongs in Pokepolls. But, I agree with you, I did not like the third Generation. The new Pokemon just didn't seem like Pokemon, and many of the designs were similar to older Pokemon. Also, I still haven't gotten over the fact that almost no Johto and Kanto Pokemon were available in RS.

I like the 3rd gen, there cool!

I like some of the Johto ones, but not all of them.

I hate Ursaring, it looks like Yogi the Bear when it stands up.
Also Ledyba looks stupid.

My favorite are the 1st gen.

Oh yes? So IYO (In Your Opinion) answer that: What´s a Pokémon?

Hoenn is a great region, few electrics pokémon (I count just one, because one is a pre-evo and the other 2 are pikaclones),
they added great looking Bugs (My second favorite type), and awesome water pokémon (3rd favorite),
the most creative pokémon IMO are there (Mawile, then Lunatone and Solrock),
they broke some stats, like Ninjask´s speed and Slaking´s attack,
it has Castform! a cute and great normal pokémon that is also in the most creative pokémon list, glalie is there too, my favorite Ice pokémon deserves a good place!
5 legendary pokémon, most people don´t like it, but I like! latias and latios are perfect pokémon and they broke that rule of "Legendary Pokémon Don´t Have Gender",
Hoenn introduced the abilities, turning some called "Bad pokémon" useful ones, like dunsparce´s serene grace and the almighty trapper wobbuffet!
Hoenn also Taugh me Braille! I always liked that, but I never looked for it, I searched in the internet some Braille sites, just to catch all the regis (don´t knew about Serebii.net that time, so I translated all the rocks and their strange writting).

Awesome region, awesome pokémon, awesome everything! But like Psychic Politoed said, it´s just my opinion.

I love the third generation because their designs are different and more complex the the past two generations...

the first generation had simple designs that are easy to understand and design. Perhaps a bit too simple though, when most pokemon from the first generation evolve, they either become bigger versions of the pre-evolved form or they gain extra heads (infact, the first generation have the majority on multi-headed pokemon)

in the second generation, the designs were getting a bit more outlandish and complex, but still had the cartoony feel of the first generation.

the third generation has gotten even more abstract in their designs, adapting a more natural feeling to them, but still had enough character to make them appealing.

the fourth generation appears to be simlair to the second generation. The abstractness of the third generation combined with the cartoony feel of the second...

little punks!
I love the Hoenn generation. They gave more space for original pokemon and had less pre evolutions then Johto did.

I think that pre-evos are just stupid, they should of just not done that
It just takes more time to complete the pokedex, and the pokedex is out of order with them.

The 3rd gen. is my favorite generation. Why?

1. It has most of my favorite pokemon(Blaziken, Rayquaza, Manectric, Sharpedo, etc.)
2. It was the first generation of pokemon RPG games I've ever played.
3. The abilties were awesome IMO.

And the list could go on for a very long time...

I don't think you know the definition of pokemon if you say that a(let's say breloom)breloom does not look like one. in your opinion, I guess that you are saying that the pokemon look different. But wait! didn't man kind change disigns too!? So maybe next time, think more before posting a thread. I am not trying to be a mini mod, I'm just giving advice.

Grass Guardian

Rags to Riches
Granted, Hoenn did have a lot of great upgrades to it. I loved the natures and the special abilities. I loved the new graphics and a few of the new Hoenn pokemon battled their way into my heart (Gardevoir, Altaria, Zangoose), but when it comes down to it, I just had so much more fun playing G/S/C. That region was so much fun! In fact I kind of wish that they'd remake it with the new graphics, natures, and special abilities. That would be awesome! One thing sticks in my mind, though about Hoenn. For the first time in all my years of playing pokemon, I actually preferred the fire starter over the grass starter. In fact I liked the grass starter least of the starters! That’s a first for me…

CyberCubed

Yeah, ok!
I really like the Pokemon created for Hoenn. We got some *really* good and unique Pokemon this time, I can only hope the 4th gen will give us as much variety.

Something interesting you said, Wynaut made Wobbuffet a Uber.

Wynaut didn't make Wobbufet an uber. The abilities added for 3rd generation did.

both Shadow Tag and Wynaut's ability to learn Encore makes him Uber.

Nothing to be done
The third generation provided arguably the best battlers around. Hoenn wins in terms of usefulness in the games. However, I'm not fond of their designs. It was too much a depature. As strange as the Johto Pokemon with their pastel colors were, the tropical batch from Hoenn was a bit off-putting.

Of course, I imagine had a Pokemon like Ditto been put in the third generation, people would use him as an example of its strangeness. Just goes to show that there are some oddities in the first generation as well.

Arteest
At least the 3rd gen had unique DESIGN, and that's what makes them great. Kanto had very very basic Pokemon, and there were a handful that looked like they took no thought at all. Want some examples?
Dugtrio = Three Digletts. WOW. HOW AMAZING.
Dodrio = A Doduo with an extra head.
Weezing = Two Koffing fused together.
Voltorb = A freakin' Pokeball. A FREAKIN' POKEBALL.
Electrode = They took Voltorb and flipped him upside-down! -_-'
Tangela = For some reason, this thing STRANGELY resembles that tumble weed with shoes from McDonalds...

Yes, some Pokemon in the 3rd gen were the counterparts of those in the 1st gen, but at least they had design.
