There will probably be spoilers, so all people who nuts about that click on the back button. Or forget your intentions.
As people who have completed Path to Radiance know, there is an abundance of... loose ends. What's going to happen to the Herons? Why and how was Rajaion kidnapped? Why did the Black Knight obey Sephiran? Why didn't the war release the Dark God? And probably most importantly, who is the Black Knight?
I made this thread so people who have played the game can give their theories and ideas about who he is, and how he fit into things.
I've done a bit of reseach, and have found that most people on FE forums think he has a unexplained conection to Ike, Sephiran, or Zelgius. Who is Zelgius, you say? He's the general of the Begnion reinforcements that Ike receives after conquering Daein.
A couple of things to note if you are going to make a theory:
- Greil is his teacher, and his sword strokes resemble Greil and Ike's vaguely (he is a general mind you).
- He has Warp Powder, but it drains his strength
- His armour and weapon (Alondite) are blessed by the goddess.
- He gave Rajaion and blessed armour to King Ashnard.
- He often shows signs of honour in his actions.
- Ashnard believes he may turn against him.
- He will not attack Sephiran.
- The Black Knight and Zelgius never appear at the same time.
And some pointless information about stats:
-The class 'General BK' has a Speed cap of 35. That is ridiculous. Assassins and Swordmasters, who are known for their speed, have always had a cap of 30.
- All his other stats are very high, but have a cap of 30 (which is the normal maximum cap).
- Zelgius, although he never appears on the map or in battle, has stats very similar (but slightly less) to the Black Knight, although his speed is significantly less. His only higher stat is luck. He has the exact same growth rates, but that may have been a matter of 'copy and paste'.
Discuss. On second thoughts, next time I won't write so much.
