Charizard is one of the most overrated Pokemon... that stupid dragon like Pokemon gets killed with one attack... Mostly n00bs use this guy. So if you use this guy then F**k you!

Freeze Knight, we don't need to guess because the votes are public, and please don't make offense to Charizard fans (me too), and don't call us n00bs. When you don't like someone or something, you shouldn't say it is weak and gets killed by one hit and things like that, just say I don't like it and your opinion for it and that's all. It doesn't mean that Charizard is weak just that he is over-rated, he maybe can beat every pokemon but the thing is only if you know how to use it. Bye.

Na, it's rubbish. Worse type combo ever and it's ridiculously weak. It's ment to be an all powerful dragon thing, and it's really not.

he's an okay pokemon... kinda boring when compared to other pokemon and given a movepool and stats that totally conflict with one another. It's his overhypedness that kinda gets on my nerves.

I don't hate charizard himself, I do dislike the fact that it's hailed as the greatest pokemon ever...

I don't care for Charizard's design either. The color is just awful (tomato red - ick!) and he's a butterball, not the sleek, feline beast a dragon should be. And his horns just look silly.

I do like Charizard a bit, but it could stand to be a different color(at least it's not Dragonite Yellow?). Perhaps that nice shade of red-orange you can get from certain nicknames in the Stadium games. It's not the best battler in the world, but starters tend to be overrated in battle anyway. Don't forget the fact that most Fire types are HORRIBLE battlers anyway. :/ Although 'zard IS in the odd position of being one of the few Fire types more geared towards Special moves in stats while still having a wider Physical movepool(which includes the ATK-boosting Dragon Dance and Swords Dance, no less). As for it being fat...get it on all fours(not sure how it could stand on those tiny forearms, but hey, it's bipedal and evolves from dinosaur-like creatures, it can get away with that), and it's about as chubby as Salamence anyway.

I wonder how much more accepting people would be of Charizard if not for its over-zealous fans, though. I know what over-fanboyism can do to *my* liking of certain creatures that I was ambivalent about anyway(Lugia springs to mind). The fact that the anime makes it out to be ultra-powerful when it's so mediocre in-game doesn't help matters much. I'd reckon that at least half of all Charizard hate is due to the n00bish fans, and that's being conservative about it. :<

To be honest, I'm fine with Charizard. He's rather mediocre when battling, yet he can do stuff. He puts many Fire Pokémon to shame. Namely Entei, whom is much cooler, but ah well...

His design is meh-ish, but it can stand as cool in one way or another. Unlike some other Pokémon. *coughscythercough*

As for the fandom... it's not much of a hassle nowadays. It could even stand as being underrated, because the amount of rabid fans has been awfully minor. I do agree he's overly showcased in the Anime, and even had a part in the GS Intro, which should've been of any other Pokémon. Say... a 2nd Gen Pokémon? It's saddening to see ONLY 3 Johto Pokés appearing in the GS intro, as opposed to 6 Kanto ones... -__-

I also think he can be funny, what with the rather dumb looks. Think Aerodactyl.

In short, Charizard is OK. My only gripe with him, the Fanbase, has been diminished thanks to some people. *Ahem* So... I'm partial. He's still one of my least favorite Starters, though. But he beats Sceptile. Not that it's much anyway. I despise that turd too much...
