Who Would Win? Kanto versus Johto versus Hoenn

HiroKazuma

Cascade Trainer
Out of all Ash's main pokemon fo reach region, who would win?
Kanto Line up- Pikachu, Butterfree, Pidgeot, Charizard, Bulbasaur, Squirtle
Johto- Pikachu, Bayleef, Cyndaquil, Noctowl, Totodile
Hoenn- Pikachu, Corphish, Sceptile, Donphan, Aipom, Swellow

I personally would LOVE to see Charizard versus Sceptile and Pidgoet versus Swellow

Overall, his Kanto team would OWN all his other pokemon.

PHAIL!!!

Seriously, at least give a good explanation as to what his Kantou team has going for it. Sure, Lizardon may be one of his strongest Pokemon, and Fushigidane and Zenigame are good for being unevolved and have learned Solar Beam and Hydro Pump. However, Butterfree can barely do s*** (especially since the anime constantly refuses to showcase the Pokemon's psychic abilities), and Oosubame obviously owns Pigeot, being Satoshi's only flyer (besides Lizardon) to actually train and do something worth a damn (not to mention being, I estimate, Satoshi's third most prominent battler as of right now, after Pikachu and Jukain... getting a hit in on Deoxys Speed Form should not be overlooked, neither). Heigani compensates for its lack of evolution about as well as Fushigidane and Zenigame do (though he should still learn a new attack already). While Jukain's only recently evolved, he's quickly proven to be one of Satoshi's most powerful Pokemon (all things considered, he trained and battled a lot as a Kimori and Juptor) and could feasibly rival Lizardon in strength and skill (though, if they both fought eachother directly, there is that type disadvantage... but that didn't stop Jukain before). Also, Jukain knows Solar Beam, so that takes away Fushigidane's thunder.

Donfan hasn't seen much action, but from what we've seen of the guy thus far, he's certainly a force to be reckoned with. Aipom might be holding his team down, but certainly not as bad as Butterfree would've (and again, we haven't seen much of the guy in action. Hell, Focus Punch might make it worthwhile). Finally, there's Pikachu. In Kantou, what did this guy have? A helluva lot less than he does today. In Houen, Iron Tail was added to his staling movepool. As if that weren't enough, he learned the powerful Volt Tackle when Battle Frontier rolled around. In Kantou, Pikachu barely used Thunder, even in the leagues from what I recall (despite the fact that it clearly knew the attack, as evidenced by Dark City). For that matter, Thundershock was its staple attack in those times, rather than Thunderbolt (which Thundershock would slowly phase out to over time... hell, I'm watching Jouto episodes, it's still using Thundershock). And given a just plain overall lack of experience, present Pikachu would kick past Pikachu's a** quite handily. Also, if you really wanna get technical, Lizardon was disobedient in Kantou, causing it to barely be used, so that'd be a huge blow to the Kantou team.

The Best of the Best
His current team is his best. His Pokemon are almost all fully evolved, they almost always obey him, and they are very balanced out. Id love to see Pigeot return(maybe it will, for an episode anyway) but his current team is quite strong. Thats kinda why Im hoping he keeps at least Sceptile as it is an accomplishment of his work with it. I think he should keep at least 1 fully evolved Pokemon from each region with him.

Im hopig he at least keeps his Sceptile and maybe Pick up Totaldile and fully evolve it. Than he can take Aipom and Pika to Shinou, catcha Perap and a fire type and fully evolve that Fire type and than he can have a pretty poweerhouse team that wins battles with some believability.(because in no way could Cyndaquil do as well as it did)

Current team wins of course, but that doesn't mean the Kanto and Johto teams were weak. They are both strong but the current team is stronger. Since poor Johto team is not the powerhouse kinda team, this leaves Kanto vs. Battle Frontier. Current Pikachu will beat past Pika of course, I mean Pikachu can't get weaker after Kanto since he has been in a lot of battles since then. Sceptile and Charizard will rival each other. Swellow has been a better battler than Pidgeot. Corphish is just as strong as Squirtle/Bulbasaur and I'm sure Donphan (though had less screentime) is a great battler to overcome any opponent (especially Chariazrd with its Rollout). Aipom and Butterfree are equals, they are not that strong as the rest of the team but Aipom could win, it is a crazy monkey!!

<3 Cutie;
i would said his hoenn pokemon team i think him team them more

Just one question...if the teams are supposed to have six pokemon, how come Johto only has five? Just pointing that out...

Well, Heracross is missing. And Ash also got Phanpy in Master Quest.

No doubt his Hoenn team is exceptionally strong out of the three. I like all of Ash's Pokémon, but that didn't stop me from thinking that his teams have always been rather unbalanced back then. I'm not as dumb to say that any of his Hoenn Pokémon could take down any of his other ones, but I am of the opinion that Hoenn had most powerhouses combined in one set.

back.
His Hoenn team isn't even used in Hoenn. It's his Battle Frontier team. Plus, you are missing a few in Johto.

But overall, his Battle Frontier team destroys his other two teams. It is far more balanced and powerful.

Though I like Aipom, if Glalie were in the BF team taking place of it...the BF team would be A LOT more stronger.

Orange Islands Team, anyone?

Pikachu, Lapras, Snorlax, Bulbasaur, Charizard, Squirtle.

Although his Hoenn lineup was impressive, the team he had in the OI was equally badass.

Kabuto

little punks!
Johto team automtically loses, and Kanto and Hoenn is a tough choice.

Kanto- OI- Snorlax, Charizard, Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Pidgeot (more or less)

Hoenn-BF- Sceptile, Aipom, Swellow, Donphan, Corphish

I'd say without Pikachu, each team is about on par.

Yeah, ok!
Screw Aipom. Glalie/Torkoal should be in its place.

We haven't even seen Aipom in a real battle yet. Torkoal had some decent wins, and Glalie is really strong, as we've seen in the Hoenn league.
