This is a poll to see who people vote for the better girl trainer...
Jessie, May Or Misty?

My vote goes to...Misty. Misty has powerful Water Pokemon, and if she trains them more, they'll be even stronger to defeat Ash's Pokemon...And she could enter in the League and might have a chance at becoming a Water Pokemon Master. Her Pokemon Team is tough...(If I say..) and she managed to beat Ash in the Whirl Cup =P...

Anyhow, that's my vote! ^^ What's your votes?

Saying Jessie. Cause Misty, while a gym leader, is only a gym leader cause of the family. And May isn't even a *trainer*.

May because she's sronger than Jessie, as she has proved it before, and i think she has better strategic attacks than misty, so overall i find her the better trainer of the three.

Hmm, I'd say Misty>May>Jessie...Jessie, even when own her own has shown she can't really battle well while the other 2 can. Misty's pokemon are probably stronger than May's and she's more experienced

Yeah, ok!
^ You mean Katie, right? Yeah, she was awesome. She actually had real world battle tactics employed on her, where she'd switch based on type advantages and such. How often do we see THAT in the anime?

Of these girls, Jessie is obviously not up to par with Misty/May. If I have to go into detail why, then you obviously aren't watching the same show I am.

I am tended to say WITHOUT BIAS that May might be stronger than Misty, based on the battles we've seen. Aside from Misty's Gyarados, most of Misty's Pokemon don't seem to be any stronger than the kind of Pokemon that May has defeated in Contests.

Goldeen, Staryu, Horsea, Psyduck (without headache), and Azurill are pretty easily taken care of.

Starmie for some reason has never been shown to be a powerful battler, Corsola is average, and May's already taken out a Politoed just like Misty's.

That leaves what, Gyarados? Hm.

May>Jessie>Misty.

I think May because she does seem more capable then the other two. Jessie doesn't battle much, but she does have decent team. Misty seems a bit week with all those water pokemon. Being a gym leader does kind of give her a disadvantage.

I'm not really sure whether May or Misty is the better battler. Misty is a Gym Leader, and after seeing the Clefairy episode, I assume a lot of challengers come a day (although they might have exaggerated in that particular episode), and I imagine she's become a lot stronger since we've last seen her battle on-screen. The problem is though, that we haven't actually seen her in battle for a long time now, so her level of experience can only speculated about. And there's also the fact that she has only Water Pokémon (except one), some of which can use attacks that can counter Grass/Electric moves, but there's still the type weakness.

May has Pokémon of many different types on her team, but none of them have nearly as much experience as, say, Staryu and Starmie (and Goldeen and Politoed I guess, but the former is hella weak IMO).
Well, nonetheless, she is also quickly gaining experience because she regularly faces other Coordinators in Contests, and it's not like she never partakes in regular battles outside the Contest Halls either. Err...can't think of more.

I vote for May as of now, seeing how it's actually proven that she's strong, while as for Misty, we can only assume how powerful she has gotten as a battler.

I didn't mention Jessie at all because I think she isn't all that good at battling. She may have Pokémon that are (supposedly) strong, but Jessie just doesn't have the patience and self-control that's needed in battles.

It probably was exaggerated that one time, or else Ash would run into someone challenging the same leader a lot more often than he has. How many times have we seen that happen, maybe twice?

As for Starmie, all we've seen it do is get trashed. Experience? Yeah, sure.

I only remember that happening once, at the Viridian Gym when Gary went to challenge Giovanni at the same time Ash did.

Oddly enough, despite how many trainers enter each Pokemon league, the Gyms are ALWAYS vacant whenever Ash goes there to challenge a Gym leader. Wow, and you thought Gym leaders had busy lives? Ha!

I went for Misty because even though she's not with Ash & Co anymore, she's still a great Water Pokemon trainer.

The problem with Starmie is that we've rarely ever seen it (battling or not), and know nothing about the time before it was evolved. If it wasn't just caught like that, I'm sure Misty had it gain a lot of experience before she evolved it, so there must be a certain amount of strength behind it (if it was one of her sisters who evolved it though, forget that argument). Maybe it's the same case as for Torkoal, who got beaten up all the time, but was never intended to be portrayed as a useless and/or incredibly weak Pokémon.

Meh, but that's just my opinion. I think Starmie is strong, and that's that XD

I counted the little kids freaking out because Lieutenant Surge fried their Pidgeys and Ekans and I think a Rattata or two as a second.

When we saw Starmie battle, it ran into Pidgeotto and Graveler and got itself completely owned both times. It also demonstrated about two attacks. I don't understand why everyone seems to think Misty's Starmie is any good - it's only gotten itself thrashed! In closing, I think it's weak and that's also that.

Misty because may isn't a trainer she's a cordinaterand when was the last time you saw Jesse win a battle?

Coordinators are trainers. Several coordinators in this show have been called trainers. I'm amazed that people still use this argument 4 1/2 years into AG.

Eh, we all know this thread is another episode in the not-so-exciting saga of the Misty and May Fan Wars. I'm just waiting for the horde to arrive and flame one another to a crisp.

MISTY>Jessie>May.

Misty is amazing. 'Nuff said for her.
Jessie has great potential and talent, but she needs to work on her skills.
May is good at contests, but IMO not the best battler. (Not biased! I just think Jessie is better!)

Misty>May>Jessie.

Misty's clearly the best triner based simply on the fact that she's a gym leader! Her Pokemon have lots of expirence, and they have multiple (sp?) types, despite all being water, so she's the better trainer. And as much as I don't like it, I think May's a better trainer then Jessie. Jessie's always been a loser, and she's never going to change. Has she eeven ever won a battle?
