Why are most of the Pokemon missing in the next game?

It doesn't make sense to add tons of awesome things and top it off with something terrible. They could have put the Pokemon in effortlessly; the models were already done. Was there any reason for them to do this terrible thing? I'm not getting the game. :(

I'm guessing it was time constraints.

Having to individually animate all 649 Pokemon wouldn't exactly have been "effortless", especially considering the amount of effort they put into the ones that are included in the game. There's also the fact that this is Chunsoft's first game they've done for Nintendo since their company merger with Spike, which likely didn't do them any good as far as how much time they had to spend on it, now that they have more projects to worry about.

In any case, your loss if you're not getting the game. It delivers in every single way other then the number of Pokemon, which I've never considered the main appeal of the PMD series.

They shouldn't use big deadlines and not put things in due to time constraints. They should just be guidelines. A lot of companies should be more like valve... but not too much. :p

Well, maybe they wanted to replicate the feel of Black and white, as most of the pokemon are from gen V. And it's actually a GOOD thing they did that, as in the previous games recruiting all pokemon is a nightmare, but in this game it's more reasonable
