In FireRed I gave him the Ruby and Sapphire and he fixed the machine. Then I tried to trade with Emerald upstairs all the way to the right and it still said "Please Wait" and didn't go away.

My cord has 3 plugs 2 for trading and I don't know what the other one is. It's like see through purple and then one end splits and has a pink and yellow plug.

Is it because of that?

Hmm...It could be because you don't have the National Dex on your Emerald, or you are using an old Game Boy Link Cable. Though, it sounds like you have the GBA/GCN link cable which should work fine.

Because it's not a link cable that's made for Game Boy Advance (SP). I have one and it only works for R/B/Y and G/S/C as it was made after those came out and BEFORE R/S/E/FR/LG were released.

Yeah I have the DEX on both. I'm thinking its the cable.

Where can I get a better one and for how much money?

Probably Game Stop for like 10 bucks right?

Yeah, they can be bought virtually anywhere that sells games. Gamestop would definetly have them, so yeah...Invest in about $10 and get one. :p

****Oh yeah I forgot to say can it be hooked up from a GBA to a GBASP cause that's how I have to do it.
yes it can... some people claim to have trouble with it but for the most part it's a matter of a non-official link cable. brands other than nintendo's sometimes will not work with certain games so it's best to buy official nintendo cables to use... roughly $7-10

Ok, looks as if this has been pretty much answered. The solution to the problem has been reached. :p
