Why did my Houndour not evolve at level 24?

It just got to level 24 but didn't evolve.. it's no big deal, but it's just alittle odd, I'm playing XD.

I've looked it up on a number of sites, all say 24.. even my Pokédex collectors edition book.. oh well, and no, it was holding nothing, I guess it's ok now he eveolved.

I had a similar problem in my Yellow. My Metapod wouldn't evole until level 11. It never got Confusion ;_; I had to us a Butterfree with Tackle, String Shot, and Harden for a while.

But I'm talking about 1st a generation game, where such things are unsuprising. Mabye even some 2nd and 3rd Generation games have that problem.

Was your Houndour at Relic Stone when it was purfied and then it leveled up to 26?

If it was purified, then did your Houndour grow to Level 24 during a Trainer battle??? If it did, then did all your party pokemon faint during that same trainer battle afterward, thus making you white out, putting you back to the last pokemon center with half your money lost??? That could be the reason why it didn't evolve at level 24...

I also dont think it would evolve if it was knocked out after leveling up. I've had that problem in the past, but Im not sure after gen. 1. I never let them stay out anymore after that first shaft-up.

Your Houndoor did not evolve cause maybe it evolves at a different level lik 30 or 27

Sorry all you people but you are all wrong. It evolves at Lv. 24 and that is when mine evolved.


Yours didn't evolve because it got killed in battle before the end. Even if it grew a level, if it dies before the end of the battle, it doesn't evolve.

No, it leveled in a Trainer battle at the Pyate colosieum.
And wasn't fainted

Actually, if a pokémon faints in the middle of a battle, unless you lose the entire battle (in other words, white out), it will still evolve. It has happened to me before a few times.
