Why do you like pokemon?

Well, like the topic says, why do you like pokemon?Why'd you get into it?
For me, I've always loved animals, be they mythological or real.And pokemon was like awesome because it's world were everything is dependent on animals.And you can tame the animals and keep them.Heck, having an Arcanine is as close to keeping a Siberian Tiger as I'll lever get.

I don't know. When I played my first game I became knowlegdable about pokemon and that made playing fun and easy.

Well, when I first got my Game Boy Color when I was 5 years old, the first two games I got, were Super bros, and Red version, after that...I've been playing every gen since I was 5

Well, I guess I like the whole idea of capturing animals, training them, and using them in battle. I also like the whole collecting scheme of it, as well as the battling part, and the pokemon's overall designs.

On a bigger scale, I love animals, as well as collecting things. Growing up I could never have anything bigger than a house cat, so Pokemon helped me fill a gap I couldn't fill...

the part I like is the thought of an entire world filled with monsters with incredible powers. That thought always gets my blood pumping. If you think about it like that the anime should be a lot better!

Well the first gaming console I ever recieved was a GBA and while my sister got Mario Kart: Super Circut, I got Pokemon Silver which we got for Xmas in good ol'Michigan (On the way back to Australia I recieved a used copy of Red and a brand spanken new Yellow from my now 17 year old cousin.)

And the Simplistic RPG just hooked me on. 3 Years later I went back to America and got Sapphire (Which was lost. I HAD 5 FRICKEN SHINIES ON IT (Wurmple, Dunsparce (From LG), Kyogre, Sceptile and Ditto)). Eventually I got everything from Red To Diamond. The only main RPG thats missing is Midori. And that's rare.

What I really like is the the ability to customize. It's really just like the burger king motto when it comes to teams and battling "Have it your way." There are so many different strategies crammed into a single pokemon it's hard not to love it. What really lured me in was the combat.

I don't know... I know that I originally got into it because it was the cool thing in school way back when, but something about it just hooked me in. The collecting aspect is surely one thing I love about it, but knowing so much about it and hopefully being able to develop a group of pokemon that can overpower others' little monsters using that knowledge is also cool; putting so many hours into these games should be worth it in the end, I think.

Well i play pokemon maybe beacuse its one of the more customizable rpg games out there and these creatures are just so cool more than 300 hundred "tiny animals" to choose from and battle with others xD its just great

Well, because it's fun and it's great for a Hobby. Playing the games, trading and playing with the cards (actually i don't keep me busy with the cards since it came out), watching the Anime and Movies. Nothing more to say.. :/

For me, it has to be the personality. It's what brought me into the series in the first place. The Pokemon have tons of personality, and back then I was interested in imaginative creatures like these guys.

But it wasn't just the pokemon, it was also the human characters that had lots of personality too, specifically the Gym Leaders. Sometimes I wish they could elaborate on the Gym Leaders' history and character a bit more, and from the looks of Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, they're making some progress with that.
