Why do you think that DP is so unoriginal

Answer the question. If you dont think its unoriginal then dont post. Dont just say its unoriginal, give valid reasons

Um are you stupid or something, there is no gyarados in that lake. Its been said a long time ago. It was a reference to Johto. The rival heard of a red gyarados in a far of lake and wondered if one would show up in this lake. Get your facts straight

Um, you don't see it in the lake. You hear about it in a news broadcast. And that is one of the many (cleverly placed) connections to Johto/gsc.

DP is unoriginal because out of the 107 new pokemon,

-almost 30 are connected to old pokemon
-14 are legendaries

DP is unoriginal because it took the same plot of rs and rehashed it with Dialga/Palkia.

IMO, Kairyu Trainer, what is the point of this thread? If you only want people to discuss how DP is unoriginal, what is there to discuss? Honestly, I feel that DP is very original, having new features that nobody expected (babies in the wild, physical/special split, etc). Even though the reasons above are valid, I do not necessarily agree with them.

I don't think that D/P is too unoriginal. You have to understand that with a game this popular, you have to be careful when making changes, or some of the fans may be upset. But really, when creating starter Pokemon did they really need to have us choose between grass, fire, and water? They could have made different types for starters to keep things interesting, but it's not a big deal.

Well there are so many people out there saying they dislike it cause unoriginal and its really annoying me so I decided to give them a thread to complain all they want! They always say unoriginal but never back it up.

See that its 2 points and people go and complain so much about it saying it sucks!

it's original but not as original as people would like becouse it's still a trainer who gets a pokemon and goes around like always mabe if they could put a few more jobs in there people would like it more.

Well thats what the games are about. Look at Mario, its nearly always about killing bowser, and Zelda, theres always a bad guy you have to kill and 8 dungeons to go through.

They put in Co ordinator, what else do you want, to be a ranger, the main point of the game is to raise pokemon for battle

Pokemon in general is unoriginal when comparing one installation to another. Yet in no way do I find that a con. As for the people who consistently ***** and moan about everything and how the new Pokemon suck and all that, let me tell you something. These people are called nostalgic elitists. They complaing about everything that does not involve their precious Kanto days. It's like the people who say everything on TV sucks nowadays and how their youth had things so much better.

The plot of DP is far better then previous ones, since you know, Akeji wants to ascend to God status of the universe, while overdone in other franchises, has never happened in the games.

I alos hate the "JOHTO RULED!" despite it basically being the same as this, lots of babies and evos.

lol i never knew that i remember long time ago hearing aobut red gyrados but o well now back to the point lol,
i dont think d/p is unoriginal and if u mean by unoriginal that its not a new topic and it kinda copies old pokemon games then still i dont think it is, it has a new topic a new region and doesnt really copy anything from the previous games

Personally, I find these games very original, I just wish they tapped into that creativity of theirs just a tiny bit more... no, this isn't being exaggerated at all! but for the record for the creator of this thread, I totally agree on the fact that people shouldn't just sit around griping about how bad the game is... instead attempt to create a Pokemon game of their own! Even NP has even pointed out that most of the pokemon titles have that similar feel! All I'm looking for is games that break that Pokemon tradition once in a while. For instance, DP could have allowed you to choose whether to be the hero or villan. As lond as INtendo continues to create Pokemon games that go against tradition (Pokemon Ranger, Mystery Dungeon, Colosseum , Pokemon TCG and 2) I'm cool with Diamond 7 Pearl!

People have said it about every generation, yet every generation has been equally original. Tons of great new ideas, evolutions to enhance old lines, and lots of cool new animals being represented.
