Why does everyone like May so much?

A simple question: Why does everyone like May so much? In my opinion, she's ditzy, boring, completely annoying, and generally just a replacement for Misty. She wasn't even original. Remember, the whole bike wreck scene? So please, if you are a May fan out there, please let me know why you like her. Because I really don't understand it.

Unfortunity even though shes 10 she has big knockers, so thats one of the reasons so many people like here. I personaly dont like her all that much.

I have to agree just a little bit. Her character was good in the game, at least. In the anime I think they overdid her personality.

Truth.

People like her because she's got boobs that'd make several teenagers envious (Proof), yet she's just 10 years old. Or maybe they also like her dizzy/girly attitude.

I like her 'cuz she looks cool, and she was very curvy. And I thought that since she was revealed as the girl of choice in Ruby/Sapphire, so I'm not the typical Anime May fanboy.

As for the Anime, she's cute and funny. Plus, she's become a second main character with her Contest quest, unlike Misty, whom more often than not was just a companion. And I like that, because seeing Ash's quest alone got boring by Johto...

So... um... opinion? Or something.

What? If most of the people that hate May, hate her because being a Main Character. Look in the Face-Off: people hate Ash and May with passion.

But there's also are people that hate May for the simple fact that she replaced Misty. In this forums this people isn't usually very vocal about this, and in a shipping-wise aspect, people stopped to hate her as the moment Contestshipping came around.

Of course I can't deny the amount of little brats that think that May is the best thing since sliced bread just for her premature chest. But you people can't deny that May has a purpose in the show, she has a goal, she has a personality. Misty lost her mojo with Togepi and she was definitely not going for her goal at all. When she decided to work to go to her goal, she became a better character, she matured.

Now, if you speak game-wise, I don't see a reason to love May. Because is the player that gives the character its personality.

Maybe the sad truth is that only a small amount of the May fans like her for her personality :/.

why?, interesting question...because they do?, people who like her have their reasons, as we all have ours to like what we like, if you think all that of may and may fans, it's fine, but you should RESPECT that they think the opposite

meh, people are just preverted. im not and i dont hate of like may, she is just another character to me. i dont get why people like an anime girl that way cuz (imo) it is sick. but if you like and not the preverted way then yea, that is a fan. but personaly, she is no big deal to me and probably to many others.

I know alot of people like her for contests and such, too, but honestly...Drew's a much better coordinator. I mean, she hasn't beat him yet(that I remember...correct me if I'm wrong). Well, once, maybe? I don't remember.

Boring? She does a helluva lot more than Kasumi EVER did during Orange Islands and Jouto. The fact that she's constantly doing something shows that she's a main character and is doing more than say..I dunno, SITTING IN THE BACKGROUND.

Btw, just because her bike got trashed similar to Kasumi doesn't mean she's not entirely original. ;\

I love how everyone's answer was automatically "omg she has boobs." Not everyone is going nuts over her because of that. ;\

Annoying? Only when it comes to unfair wins, yes.

General replacement for Kasumi? Of course. The show needed an additional character that was doing something. Considering of the three kids in the group, Satoshi was the only one doing anything and it became boring after awhile. Kasumi's personality slowly faded away during the Orange Islands. You know. Her violent, high-tempered personality. That was hardly ever seen during Jouto.

Then you have to include the fact that Houen introduced something new: Contests. Face it, the game Contests were never as entertaining as the show's. And considering Kasumi had been doing very little to contribute to the show and they had the perfect oppertunity to include a new character and a new concept, they had the perfect reasoning to throw Kasumi back into the Gym.

Yeah, I honestly don't see how people can prefer Misty over May. I'm not crazy about girl's bodies, but May's is certainly better. Misty's personality was boringly cliché, and she really added nothing to the show. May is everything Misty ever was and more. Her character is better, her Pokémon are better, her past is better, and she's just an all-around better person to have in the show than Misty.

Misty vs May thread 5 million >_>. Whats even crazier is that I'm responding. May's contests get boring and pokemon are weak but she is a pretty interesting character in general. As said, she did more than Misty.

Oh, on topic-ness.... uhhh, I was surprised that May gained so much support from the fanbase, to be honest. If I'd had to estimate the characters' popularity prior to going online, I'd have guessed that Misty and Jessie would both have beaten out May (actually, I'd have expected Team Rocket to beat out everyone). May's personality doesn't strike me as being terribly original or memorable, truth to tell. Basically she's a typical shoujo magical girl type, only without the magic. She's nice and sweet enough, but not that interesting. I think a lot of people probably like her because of her association with the contests - I bet if she'd been a sidekick like Misty or Brock, she wouldn't be nearly as loved as she is. (Mind you, I also think if she'd been flat-chested, she wouldn't be as loved as she is, either.)

But it's all opinion anyway, and apparently loads of people think she's the best thing to happen to television, so I guess there must be something about her. Besides the boobs.

frankly, I kinda find the whole "boobs lawl" arguement getting kinda creepy and annoying.

anyway, May happened to do something that's rarely ever done successfully, and that is breathe new life into a show that had jumped the shark, and did it successfully. Plus she took over from an offed a character who was actually even more popular then the main one. Which is extremely rare considering that 99 percent of the time it never works.

Aw god, I liked misty's but may sounds like a rat that's eaten 6 tons of c*rack. and I really don't like the fact people like her because she has ***s at the age of 10
