Why is Strenth looked down upon?

save Snorlax, Linoone, and Aipom
You forgot Tauros, Dodrio, Slaking, Blissey(CBbliss ftw XD), Miltank, Persian, Usaring and Zangoose. Aipom is never used. o_0
And; Return>Strentgh because of BP, BS>Strentgh because of Para, Fury Swipes>Strentgh because it's anti-sub, Extemespeed(and QA)>Strentgh because of priority mod.

I agree, for the most part. In-game, it's not a bad move at all. If you're playing Fire Red/Leaf Green, it's probably the HM you'll find need for most (aside from Surf), so if you can find a place for it on some pokemon, you won't need to drag a slave around with you all the time.

For competitive play, there are better things, obviously.

People don't use Strength because it's obsolete. Body Slam has higher power and a paralysis chance while Return and Double-Edge are more powerful.

Why use strength? I use Hyper Beam when I want a high powered normal move.
*awaits posts by people saying I am stupid for using a move that makes you skip your next turn*

Go ahead. I'm waiting.

Yes, you are an idiot for using Hyper Beam.

Please read the peoples answers.................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... they all say something about better moves right? Well mostly people just want perfection with pokemon in the game which I think is silly. It's all about having the best and blah blah blah

Why do I get the impression that you're not good at Pokemon?

Yes, you are an idiot for using Hyper Beam.

Okay, thanks.

What? Are you still here? That's all I have to say, really.

Go away!

I don't exactly know, but it might have to with the fact that there are many more stronger normal type moves, but that never stops me from teaching strength to a member or two of my party. (shrugs)
Likewise. I have Strength taught to a couple of my Pokemon, but I would rather use the four moves that I have already said.

Strength is just fine in-game, but in the case of competitve battles, either link, or Frontier/Tower:
Return > Body Slam > Strength
It just doen't cut it. =/
Why miss 20 more power or 5 more power + HAX, when you can just opt for it?
It like asking: You can get GIMP free, why get Photoshop?

look a portkey!
strenght is ok but their are better moves seriously

I really like Strength. It is straight forward, and you can use it on almost any Pokemon in the game (no Rock, Steel, or Ghost types). And it is right there if you wake up one morning and say "I want every one of my Pokemon to have Strength!"

Perhaps it's because there are better moves to choose from, i.e.

Slash (70, 100% High CH Ratio) > Strength
Body Slam (80, 100% Para) > Strength
Hyper Beam (150, 90% 2 Turn charge) < Strength
Crush Claw (75, 95% May lower DEF) > Strength

Return and Body slam are just much better

I use Strength on other Pokemon, but Return's a great TM to teach your Pokemon/.

fuk yo couch ***** !
there are better normal power moves, such as return (which i consider the best normal type move in the game)
but i dunno. i guess people generally tend to frown upon HM's in movesets
apart from surf, which is definitely one of the best water type moves going and is a general favourite of mine. i guess we'll never know.

its not one of the more useful normal moves. like with body slam theres 100% accuracy and as an added bonus, theres a chance of paralysis

blazingjirachi

oblivion weilder
i stear clear of normal moves altogether, i find them pointless wiht no super affective ness
