How come 95% of all the legendaries are psychic types? Why can't it be some other type? Even celebi, or the three legendaries from D/P that stopped darugia/parukia.
I really like psychic types, I just dont understand why nintendo makes them legendary.

Mewtwo, mew, celebi. deoxys, jirachi and more.

EDIT: Ok I opologise its not 95% it is actually 44.44444444444%. Not as much, but still.

Psychic Pokemon for me have non-natural(sobernaturals) things.
and this is the problem, all the lengendaries pokemon are sobernaturals.

Well, when a pokemon is psychic, it pretty much gives them more control over things. Like how mewtwo controled the weather and made a huge storm.

But you do bring up a good point. I mean, dark type seems like a really good type to be a legendary too. Why isn't it?

That is probably because it began in RBY when the Psychic type was overwhelmingly the strongest. It continued in the next games, as Psychics are still powerful, and even moreso when dual typed.

Getting into the actual typing non-gamewise: Psychic pokemon have abilities that are not known by others. They have telepathy, telekinesis, etc. Those abilities, themselves, are far superior to the norm.

When 8 out of 18 legendaries are psychic types, I think it can be said that there are more psychics than that of any other types. This is especially true when psychic is just "added" onto the Pokemon (Latios, Latias, Celebi, Jirachi etc.)

This reason? I don't know. But I did go through all of Crystal with a single Kadabra.

Ghost Pokemon are a bit stronger than Psychic Pokemon probably because they are immune to most attacks. They are shrouded in mystery, but not that many ghost legendaries. The only one is Giratina. Since Psychic types are so powerful that is why ghost and dark types were made to mostly keep them in check. Bug beats Psychic too but they aren't as tough as ghost and dark types.

I don't know for sure, but it seems like Ghost pokemon are equally weak to psychic, as it is the other way around too. I remember taking out Agatha's lvl 54 Gengar with one Psychic attack from my lvl 55 Kadabra.

And yea, there really aren't that many psychic legendaries, just about hald of them, or less.

Well, first generation Ghost was meaningless, since a weakness to Ghost doesn't work if there are no Ghost moves that will take advantage of this. Shadow Punch and Shadow Ball just weren't around. Just like with Dragon Rage. Woohoo, 40 HPs, even if it is weak against it. Pathetic.

Psychic types are often legendary since it's a very functional type to use. 95% is beyond an exaggerration, but I guess it can seem like it sometimes.

There can't be that many legendaries...

Personally, I think it's because Psychic is a type of mystery.
Ghost is too but most of the legendaries don't look like they'd fit the Ghost type.
