Uh...good question. Maybe they didn't want to fill our plates too much, with it being our first taste of 3D RPG Pokemon and all.

Well we saw Munchlax and Bonsly there, and they both come from that new sector or Orre that wasn't in Colo. (Or at least I think.) Maybe if more of Orre is revealed in DP or some other game, we'll see more and more new Pokemon. Maybe they don't like the desert sectors...

Anyway, it would have been too soon to make a lot of new Pokemon. New ones usually comes out at a rate of about every 2 and half years. Colo came out only about a year after RS...

What do you mean there weren't any new Pokemon in Orre? There's Munchlax and Bonsly.

Anyway, it's because it's still 3rd gen. They have barely started in trying to make D/P, and if new Pokemon will be used in there, that'll pretty much ruin and/or confuse things.

Yes, but unless the 4th gen takes place in Orre, you can't coun't Munchlax and Bonsly.

I'm guessing because Colo. was out before people knew about the 4th generation Pokemon game. And even if they did, you couldn't catch wild pokemon in there.

For XD, D/P hasn't even been relased yet so why would they start making D/P pokemon availible?

It's because Ruby and Sapphire had barely been released one year before. That's Nintendo's strategy to keep the money flowing: Introduce a new game, then when the new game is milked for all it's profits, they introduce a new game. It keeps popularity high and it ensures a steady flow of money.

Orre was, to make it blunt, just an outta the blue Region. It was overriden with desert, which suppossedly made it impossible for any Pokémon to live there. Then in XD were the Pokéspots, as wild Pokémon started to flow around. And yes, they were old ones. I have my own theories, but I better save them for my Fic.

That's the only excuse. Still, it could have had a few new Pokés, but again, it was just some excuse to put 2nd gen Pokémon somewhere else and save them the hassle of remaking Johto. Them japanese fellows must hate it...

They had no time to make new pokemon. Besides, it was a region intended to give powerful rare pokemon and introduce the shadow pokemon quest.

Because it'd be incompatible to trade to RSE, and XD and Colosseum were made for the sake of trading their exclusive Pokémon over to those games. I doubt they'd want to spend extra time coding in the time machine clause, etc. if they could avoid the issue altogether.

It says in the beginning, when you play colosseum that Orre is too
dry that wild pokemon can't survive, thats why you can't buy pokeballs
at the pokemart and just at the stand. So I guess that all the pokemon
must be imported from Hoenn, Johto, and Kanto!
