Wi-Fi Help, please. :/

Right, on the Nintendo Wi-Fi site, my router (D-Link, DSL-G604T) is listed as compatible with Wi-Fi, yet I've been having numerous problems. I've had to resort to the Manual Connection thing, and have filled in all the fields yet it still doesn't connect. I just getting an error message stating that it cannot find an access point, and gives the error code '50099'. I've been messing around with everything for the last few hours to no avail. Any ideas?

Sorry if it's a tad vague, I'm just frustrated. ._.

There's a thread labeled "Official Wi-Fi Help Thread" or something like that. Just an FYI. :p

I'm not sure what's the problem with the auto-setup option. For the manual setup, everything's case sensitive, so if your SSID is Nintendo, you can't enter it as nintendo or NINTENDO on the DS.

Sorry, that's all the advice I can offer, seeing as I'm not an obsessive techno-geek. :|

Ah, sorry about that. I checked the stickies and the few threads which had been recently posted in and didn't spot it.

If a mod sees this, could they merge this thread with the help thread or something? Thanks.

Anyway, I'm not using the Nintendo one, but if I can't get it working I might just give up and buy one. :/
I'm using a D-Link brand (DSL-G604T) wireless router thing.

DONT BUY THE NINTENDO USB CONNECTOR!

It's known to work dfectively, and can scew up your ethernet ports. Try changing boradcast channel to 2, change it to B only transmission and transmission rate to 54M. If that doesn't work, go into security settings and see if it has a built in firewall.

I use the USB connector and it works fine.

Well, listen. If it wasn't for it, then I couldn't connect to Wi-Fi. It really helps you out if you can't connect to an access point.

If it says cant find an access point, make sure your close to or within range. Also, you have to register the router on the DS. On whatever game your playing, it should be under Nintendo WiFi settings. There you can test your connection or set it up.

I was gonna take down the firewall for a few seconds to test without it but my Mum stopped me from doing so. :/

For all the second lot of stuff, I couldn't find it in the router/connector thingy where you change all the settings etc.

Done all of that which is why I'm posting. :p

I use a Linksys router, so I don't know where you'd find yours. Tell your local retailer that your router wouldn't work and maybe you can trade in for a new one o_O. Tell your mom that if only for a second, it wouldn't hurt to take down the firewall.

That's what I said to her, but she just said she'd rather not risk it. :/

EDIT: Is there anything specific I might be able to do in the settings of my Firewall?

Your router might have a built in firewall. You might wanna check the security settings of your router.

There is a built in one, I believe, but I've modified everything mentioned in the troubleshooting part of the Nintendo WiFi site in the security settings.

I'll try messing around with the main one...

That's what happens when you hack. Also, don't bring up an old thread that has been answered. What's more, your post is completely off topic. >_>

Actually, I don't think it does. 0o I can never get to your town, but everyone else is fine.

Error Code: 50099
The Nintendo DS is not detecting any Access Point.
What to do will depend on where you are trying to connect from:

From a wireless home network:
-Make sure that your router is turned on and that your DS is within 30 feet of the wireless access point and facing in its general direction.
-Make sure that any other interfering devices, such as microwaves and cordless phones, are turned off.
-If you are using the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector, ensure that your PC is powered on, and that the USB Connector is properly installed. If you are not sure, reinstall the software and try again.

That's from the Nintendo Wifi site. If you haven't tried all that, try it now. >>;

Edit: Wait...this is old. Have you fixed it now? xD
