Wifi Connection Pokemon Diamond/Pearl

I am really really looking foward to Pokemon Diamond/Pearl, the main reason for this is that I have heard that it will use the Nintendo WiFi Connection.

However I am not sure how it will work?

I would hope that you can trade Pokemon online in a "Union Room" style setting or with some sort of board system.

I think that the battling online should work like this; one there should be a quick battle type where you fight people with simlar level pokemon or friends in single or double battles, two there should be a tournment style battles wherel large numbers of people fight in elimate style battles.

Also a ranking system of player would be a great and nessacary addition.

That is my opion what do you think?

The ranking idea is good. You could get points for beating players and the person with more points would be rank 1. You get more points for beating higher ranked players. I like that. (When you leave the online play, you obviously get your points saved so you don't have to battle continuously)

It's going to be a Union Room style however governed by Friend Codes so only people you have friend codes for will be able to be in the same room

Yes! that would be so awesome. First no driving to nintendo events, second people in other countries can get event pokemon with out flying to other countries.

Couldn't agree more.

Hopefully you'll be able to trade and chat. Compare teams of course battle. Contests too. Maybe even tournaments of 8 or something.

Oh ya, so we probably will have alot of friends by these forums. I waws thinking you cant trade with people you dont have registered on your friends list, or talk with them on voice chat.

Well, the basement in the PokeCenter is probally gonna be the WiFi connection room for d/p. Theres probally gonna be a union room, colosseum, and trade center for WiFi in the basement. The upstairs is gonna be same as the old pokemon games, but wireless.

The battles, however. Just think, online tournaments, world cups possibly to represent your country!? There may even be teams you can make using Friend Codes.
I hope this happens and is not wishful thinking.

No...There will be friend codes so you don't get cheated in trades.It'll probably be like 100 friend code spaces.What if for every pokemon you have you get to add another friend code?
