is the Wii region protected?
This is true for NTSC vs. PAL, but Japan and North America both use NTSC--it's identical. Region locking has more to do with an obsolete territorial business model. Companies want to sell the rights to distribute their products in other regions to local franchises for big bucks. This model is obsolete thanks to the ease (and legality, thank God) of importing goods overseas. Unfortunately, companies like to cling to such archaic models until they can no longer, so we have to put up.There's always a way around region coding, if you are willing to void the warranty on your console. The main reason why there's region coding with consoles is because there are different standards for TVs and different wall plugs for adapters that use different amounts of electricity in different countries.....and yes, I know I just said "different" too much. =P
wtf are you people talking about? the wii is not region protected. and also this isnt the place for this. this is the POKEMON BATTLE REVOLUTION forum! talk about this in the NINTENDO forum. Also, dont ask stupid questions and look at the wii sticky in the nintendo forum its got all you need to know about the wii.
