Can anybody clarify whether the Wii U faces the same problems as the Wii with dual-layered discs like Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Mario Kart Wii? And And how much of a chance does a NTSC Wii bought in December 2011 have of getting the dual-layer disc problem? And does some one have a list of notable dual-layer-disc games of the Wii? Mods, do move this thread to the appropriate place if this place is wrong. Thank you in advance!

The Dual layer disk issue should be "fixed" for the Wii U. This is down to a Different Drive in the Wii U. The Wii U has a Drive that is not to different from the Blu Ray Drives, while the Wii Disk Drive is basicly a DVD drive. (Neither Console use the Official standards, but they're close to said standard.)

The following games, as far as I tell are Dual layer:
    Super Smash Bros. Brawl
    Metroid Prime Trilogy
    Metroid Other M
Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love
    Samurai Warriors 3
    Raving Rabbids Collection
    Xenoblade Chronicles
    The Last Story
    Samurai Warriors 3 Z

I own many of the above games, but they seem fine on my UK Wii.
