Wild Pokemon in different shapes and forms.

I would like to see different forms of each Pokemon. Like your Munchlax might be chubby, tall, short or thin bepending on the gender or nature. It is like all animals, some are bigger then normal some are thiner.
This would make your Pokemon a little different when battling others with the same Pokemon.

So what do you think?

It would take far too much space on the cart to store all the required art. The only thing they could do would be slightly alter their colours based on PV in a manner similar to Stadium, but that was lame.

If it were based on nature, it would remove a bit of a strategic element in that your enemy doesn't know the nature of your Pokémon until they (if they're keen) see the effects of their stats.

All they need to do if flatten the spirit to make some Pokemon short and chubby and strech the spirit to make them tall and thin, along with other techniques they can use just to make your Pokemon alittle more original.

Also the colour changes on Stadium were the worst thing I have seen done to a Pokemon game... They were like lame coloured shinies.

Nah! It won't happen!

Nice idea but it would take up 2 much space!
just thing over 300 pokemon each with wat about 6 or 8 difrent possible appeasrances (thin, fat ect...) Thats like Maths i can't do! or be bothered!

Who said it would take too much space?Like it only has to save something small to produce something gigantic, all they have to do is randomise say something like a no. then save it.And besides its not like codes are much to store,if the DS can have internet,Im sure A few hundred codes wouldnt hurt. And besides you guys forget the language games are made in are like pages long of words.
Plus I add that fish buisness with the guy in lake of rage in silver, all fish you took to him are different so it proves that there are diferent sizes out there.
plus this wouls slot in nicely next to stats.Say like large pokemon, defense slightly more.Etc

shove it up ya bum!
Could the pokemon grow? Like you get a small Pikachu on level 5 and by level 27 it's grown a couple of inches and weighs a but more. Maybe, according to how many items you use on it like Rare Candies, they could contribute as a consequence for putting your pokemon up a lvl early through how much it weighs.

Yeah actually thats not a bad idea!Maybe items like the macho brace can play even more importance.
I still like the idea it just seems to bring difference, its a way better idea that pokemon natures anyway.

I always wanted that pokemon of the same species can vary in size. I mean in the anime there are also tall Magcargos/Claydols/Whiscashs/Pidgeots, why not in the game. I know anime =/= game, but hey I'd be cool. In the game there are people who want the tallest Magikarp or Barboach, and this proves that the pokemon from the same species really vary in size, but we just cant see it. So I think I'd be awsome if they made tall and small pokemon frome each species, but I also know that this wont happen...:/

Imagine like in Animal Crossing when you go fishing for Pokemon the biggest fish wins like the Bug Catching Contest.
Or like the Digimons where you can see the weight of your Pokemon while Training makes it stronger and too many rare candies makes it fatter as DriveshafT said.

It would be so awesome!!!!!!!!!! The bad thing: It would takea very long time to make like 25 versions of the same Pokemon and it would take up so much memory. It WOULD be awesome though!!!
Foe instance, say when Diamond and Pearl come out, there are 500 Pokemon:
500
x25 natures
12,500 different Pokemon forms!!! That's a lot of forms!!

Sure that's way too much, but that's not what I meant. I want only the height to vary. There should be a "normal" height, a small one and a tall one. The unusual heights(smaller and taller pokes) would be very rare, not as rare as shinies, but almost. And the height shouldnt depend on the nature, 'cause that would take away the possibilty to breed your perfect pokemon(for example a small Snorlax with the prefered nature and stuff). I think that'd be awesome.

I think that these are all good ideas. I have always thought that it would be a good idea to have the pokemon look different depending on its nature. I think that it would add to the realism.

I also think that it si a good idea to have the pokemon move while they are attacking. This would be even better.

I think that adding a feature that makes it appear as though your pokemon are growing is about one of the only things they can do now. Well... I am sure that it is not but it would still bne a cool feature.

i think Pokemon should be different based on nature (would make raising pokemon much easier) but not to do with height/width. a sprite could say more. eg if the pokemon is SHY, then its sprite could be backing away or slightly covering its eyes. if the pokemon has a JOLLY nature then it could be arms spread out wide and smiling. (back shots should all be the same)

and also i was really surprised when a few months ago i heard about Spinda having different patterns cos i nevernoticed it before! i want stuff like this to carry on going, but with other Pokemon like Ditto who could have different blob shapes and Kecleon, which, in animé has different colours...

Okay then, so:
500
x 3
1500 forms. Well, that's not as much, but it is still a lot.

Noo, it's good as the way it is. Have you seen chubbier or skinnier Pokémon in the Anime? Well, I haven't, so why does that have to be in a game? Just to spend some memory. That is kind of a good idea, yeah, but hard to fulfill.

It would take up too much memory. Plus, I don't think people want to spend hours looking for a tall Abra or a fat Pikachu. The Pokemon are all fine as they are. I can't imagine most of the Pokemon being fatter, taller, shorter or slimmer than usual, really.
