Will Cheaters Ruins Pokémon Wii's Online Plans

Basically will the people who use gameshark ruin the new 3D pokémon's online plans?

Personally I hope somehow that it becomes impossible for people to use Gameshark on either the diamond or pearl or the new 3D revolution game.

It will get very boring watching all the people with there sharked max stats pokémon simply cheat their way to victory.

I say: If you can't play it properly, then don't play at all.

I also hope that with Pokémon going online soon it will make Netbattle redundant or hopefully nintendo will make a cease and desist order

Uhhhh. You know that XD and Colo have cheat filters, so I'm very sure this game will. But it needs to be better than XD and Colo filters, because I can still pass those =P

(please don't look at me all mad I cheat for the purposes of research)

I'm sure it will be worked around. As for what you can do, just dont play aginst anyone in person you know hasnt personaly trained their own PKMN. And if you're online, hopefully Nintendo will take care of that.

Does using the Egg Hatch Cheat qualify as training you're own pokemon?

I havnt played against anyone personaly in a long time. But I'd assume anything deamed as "cheating" wouldnt result in legal PKMN.

Yeah.

If it doesn't involve a GS or AR, it's fine with me.

GF will probably find a way around this, though. And even if they don't, I'll only battle people I know who don't cheat.

I was thinking that very thing on the last post, and DEFINATLY I will not trade with someone who has used an AR or a GS...

yeah it should have better filters because its a more powerful system and it will be online.

I hope they can completely filter out GAMES which have used codes... the only reason you should ever use them is for games not used for battling, but for research... they would deserve it. but trading Pokemon which have been hacked to another game which hasn't used codes is a way aroound...but they have filtered out that TOO, (EDIT: in previous games)right?

The community will dispose of them as the few fair players which have an unfortunate encounter with them reclaim of their bad gamership and give them a low reputation. It's just a matter of time for them to be frowned upon and fully ignored by the community as a whole.

Plus, if this uses Friend Codes and such, I don't see how this'll be a problem at all...

Nintendo can't send a cease and desist order. Nor does it seem to want to. The only problem with Netbattle is suddenly having 31 EV in each stat and all that-- it's not reflective of how a real metagame would work if the actual games people played went online. Otherwise, it's really good, and the only way you're using the movesets the people on the net tell you to is because they try it out in netbattle.

Hopefully though, with this, netbattle would become redundant.

As for the main thing, if Nintendo has ways to prevent cheating at tournaments, surely it can stop it online as well? Either way, people cheat on online games all the time, and just lose their reputation entirely, or people complain to admins and the sort and they get kicked off.

Even though Colo and XD have cheat filters, they still do not block Pokemon caught in the islands. So someone could easily use a teleporting code to get to an Island, get the Pokemon, and transfer it over. They can not max their stats, but they can still go cath a mew, cheat some TMs, and there you have it, ultimate Mew.

Coes like these, shouldn't really matter. What about those who go to the conventions to get island Pokemon. What about those who go through there game fifty times to get TM's over and over. What we really be concerned about is those who will try to cheat for Max Stats/You have no HP/ect. codes, as they will be impossible to counter.

Of course. Cheaters can break through anything. Especially when the prime unofficial cheaters and hacker are recruited by Datel and Madcatz (like the recent acquisition of hacking-great Parasyte.)
It's going to be heck, folks. There will be a way for hackers to cheat online. ;;
I don't condemn it, as long as it's used in some sort of honorable fashion. Like me giving people free hacked items and bells on AC:WW. *shot*

Those don't really matter, as the islands aren't a matter of anything but location (in real life) and luck. TMs, anything could be the case. It isn't really too bad. They aren't using any codes to give it erratic stats, or to instantly raise it to Lv.100.

The problem is they can out up 10,000 walls.. .and finally a 51023030 number password... but the Braniac cheaters will break through them all

(probably using a Rocket Launcher they cheated on a game to get)

but ..tehy just keep trying.... Maybe Nintendo should hire the ppl making the cheats to block em!

Actually, I think a lot of companies do that. They hire some hackers to make their software more secure, then have others try to hack it, analyze the results, make it more secure, etc.

As for online gaming on the Wii..I kinda hope they don't keep track of win/loss records since that gives people more of a reason to cheat and/or complain about cheating. Unless, of course, they make the system foolproof enough that cheating won't be much of an issue.
