Be warned this contains very minor and I mean minor spoilers.

Currently no matter what part your watching of the pokemon anime Jessie has yet to win a contest. She technically was May's first rival. She also was interested in doing contests before May as well. Jessie by the end of Hoenn had become a good coordinator. Yet even in the Japan anime she still has yet to win even when she made awesome attempts she ended up losing. So my question is should Jessie ever win?

You've noticed that Team Rocket never beat the gang and steal their pokemon. Jessie fails at that and Pokemon Contests. Even though she's good, the writers wouldn't want the bad guys to win. The only exceptions are gary and drew.

But that sucks. The bad guys can win sometimes. Then the good guys victories are more meaningful.

Yeah, ok!
I think the problem is that if Jessie wins a contest what is she going to do with the ribbon? We know she won't get enough to enter the Grand Festival because making 5 contests just for Jessie is ridiculous.

So if Jessie wins just one contest, what are the writers to do with that ribbon? Have Jessie gloat over May about her victory? Put her ribbon in her hair? Have the ribbon completely forgotten about and never mentioned again?

I don't think that is a problem.

But remember that contest when she played fairly and still got blasted off? And then May lost anyway? The writers have a problem with the bad guys winning. So Team Rocket will never win anything. Ever.

Just kinda there.

It could get lost and never recovered?

Or maybe a random Lickitung would come out from nowhere and eat it!

Or, more likely, Munchlax. o.o

you amaze me.
Probably not becuse she uses cheating methods to win and it would send a "bad messege" to children..

Yeah, ok!

But in the later contests Jessie battled fair and square.

It was only in the first two or so contests that Jessie cheated and was booted out by the judges. (Remember when she attached that "rainbow tackle" device to Dustox to make it look like it was doing the appeals?). It was only in the first few (2 maybe?) contests that she cheated.

Jessie actually is a damn good coordinator, since in the middle-later contests she got past the appeals using her own techniques. During the battle part she battles fair and square as well, but she loses because Jessie really isn't a good battler to begin with.

Now if James entered a contest, he'd sure as hell do a lot better than Jessie in the battling segment. Maybe he can even beat May.

Honestly, when was the last time you saw any member of Team Rocket win any competition or contest?

...That's what I thought!

It's just like when James and Ash were competing in that Pokeringer contest!

Cheap Subame evolution. ;;

If there's anything the animé has tought us, it's that the 'bad guys' never win. Even if they weren't doing anything wrong.

They could have Jessie have participated in other contests uknown to May without there even being an episode and just one day show that Jessie had participated in other contests when they weren't tracking the twerps. After all they already do quite a lot when they're not in a scene with ash&co. This is the writers of pokemon after all. Plot holes and all.

How many episodes are there when TR don't try to steal Ash's Pokemon?

Jessie should win at least one contest. I'd like to see her and Dustox win.

Will they? Nope. They'd never do it. It's kinda hard to explain why. It'd go against the flow of the show is the best way I can put it. >>;;

Should they? It'd be nice to see. It'd be a nice change of pace, as long as it was a honest win instead of a win stolen from cheating.

Maybe once in a while. But as usual, something will probably go wrong, and May will probably either win because of that or May actually obtains what they're fighting for. Like, maybe during the contest, they found a Pokemon they like, and are fighting for it.
