Will Liko cross paths with Ash when she returns to Paldea?

It seems that they might, and I do mean might, be starting to prepare for Ash to make an appearance. They mentioned Looker a few weeks ago, and people noticed that in the latest episode, another character that appeared during Ash's time was mentioned, DraydenTe .
For me, the appearance of the Nurse Joy characters cemented the fact that Horizon takes place in Ash's universe. However, some fans are still not fully convinced after their reveal. Perhaps, if Officer Jenny made an appearance this would add more support to this fact.

I agree. However I think nothing will change for some fans who haven't convinced if Ash appears in Horizons himsef. They will say he is an AU Ash and continue to ignore Horizons and Ash Era are in the same universe.

Yeah. I'm also a bit astounded that the anime has not taken advantage of introducing alternative regional gym leaders, aside from the ones introduced in video games, that also exist within pokemon anime unviverse.

For example, in the original anime series and beyond, we are informed that there are multiple gyms within the region of Kanto, aside from the eight gyms featured in the video games, that are available for pokemon trainers to challenge.

If the anime wanted to avoid every previous gym introduced in the Ash-related stories, the writers could have got creative and introduced other original gyms that exist within those regions. For example, for a training mini-arc, the anime could have introduced / featured, in Liko and Roy's early story arc, multiple new gyms within in the Kanto region based on jurisdiction. The anime could have added, that the eight badges collected by Ash are found in the northern region of Kanto, while other kanto gym badges are available within neighboring regions; east, west and South of Kanto.

For marketing, the anime could made some of the new kanto gym's introduced in Liko and Roy's adventure exclusive in future games

I think keeping to avoid every Ash-related characters isn't a good idea and I'm not sure how much time can they continue.
Ash travelled 8 regions, visited many place and met many popular character. Avoiding to show popular characters encourage writers to be more creative but how about results? Can they always create succesful characters? According to my humble observation fans prefer to see previous characters and continuity in the anime instead of experimental anime only characters. For example; In the last mega evolution arc Korrina could be a better choice for mega evolution mentor instead of Master Mayonnaise who looks like Korrina's weird uncle.
These arguments reminds me first years of Journeys. Writere were avoiding previous characters and creating new ones. People were complaining about why Ash didn't meet his Alolan friends when he visited Alola or he didn't go to see Clemont and Bonnie when he visited Kalos. When Ash went to Vermillion Gym, he didn't meet Lt. Surge but his student who mentioned about him. Than Korrina who is a recurring character from XY appeared. Than main characters started to appeared.
Again according to my humble observation Horizon writers haven't tried to retcon something or to change worldbuilding from Ash era directly. So I expect same in Horizons.
-Mentioning previous characters (Looker, Drayden maybe Clay next)
-Appearance of recurring characters from Ash era.
-Appearance of main characters from Ash era.

Yeah you're right, Looker's cameo gathered more attention than most of the episodes content (except of Emma being a qt)

Though if Horizons ends next year then they don't have to worry for it anymore, and hopefully the series after is more clear in what universe it is set in.

Let's be honest. At this point, it's less about Ash crossing paths with Liko when it's more about Roy actually.

Now they had Steven Stone appear in a flashback. Personally, I think the fact that game characters that Ash encountered are starting to pop up are raising the chances of him appearing. I'd say right now there's a 10% chance that he'll pop up near the end of the arc.

Clearly they should've used his original voice actor from his debut in AG.

He's still alive, right?

I'm sorry, but Greg Chun makes for the best Steven that anyone else is fodder.
Its quite telling they didnt give Steven a voice role, they still wanna keep it ambiguous.
Oh no, he got anime!Arven'd/Amarys'd/Crispin'd/Kieran'd!

Perhaps its best if World Champion Ash Ketchum appears in movies, which can sometimes cross over into other future stories presented by the anime. He can easily serve as a main or supporting character.

I don't think we will see Ash in the final episode except a cameo. Appearance in climax during final battle can be a downgrade for Liko and friends also. If he appears, he should appear before climax.
Be a silent one like Steven and mess us all up again.

I still find it really stupid how they just force other characters to appear while being under Mr. Mime Syndrome. Like, why bother? Do they know why people love these characters at all?
