Will Liko cross paths with Ash when she returns to Paldea?

Silent Steven isn't messy. He is the same Steven that we know. I really don't understand why do people think situation of HZ is messy.
Since when is a silent cameo a confirmation of continuity?

Had Steven opened his mouth, the universe would have imploded, of course.

While you believe in continuity, this could very well be an alternate Steven. A silent cameo isn't proof.

I think I explaned this topic before.
Silent Steven or Voiced Steven don't prove anything. For example;
There are Ashes in the XY, SM, I Choose You and Power of Us. We know XY and SM Ashes are same, ICY and PoU Ashes same. However anime Ash and movie Ash are different. Where do we know this? Are voice actresses different? No. We know this because in the first minutes of ICY, it is shown that movie canon is different than anime canon. However between XY and SM or ICY and PoU, we don't see any differences. They have same worldbuilding, storytelling, canon, lore.
HZ shares same worldbuilding, storytelling, canon, lore with previous series. It is totally similar. This isn't something that I believe but I know.
Steven is the Steven that we know because HZ anime universe is the same universe that we know.

Even if Ash doesn't appear in the Horizon anime, I think he will just become the "Ryu (Street Fighter Ryu)" of the anime main story.

At this point, I see no purpose of Liko needing to meet or cross paths with Ash.

Roy makes the most sense though, and I'd like to imagine a Captain Pikachu vs Ash's Pikachu battle, which climax's to Terastal Captain Pikachu vs Mega Z Pikachu, if it ever debuts soon.

So you mean Friede vs. Ash, Kanto chillmon bout.

Also, Ash's Pikachu will NEVER evolve even through an offscreen "you know I changed my mind since the writers gave me a loophole" thing.

Not Friede. Roy vs Ash, with Capt Pikachu being under Roy's command.

Also, if Pikachu does get a Mega Z form, the evolution effects will not be permanent.

I'm really curious about your reaction if it turns out that Cap stays with Friede (the mouse's tears clearly show that he doesn't want to change trainer).

Also just pointing this out but if they had plans to introduce a Mega Pikachu anytime soon then they wouldn’t have gone out of their way to make Mega Raichu Y look so much like a Mega Pikachu to the point where they specifically point out the resemblance.

Also from what we’ve seen of Z- Mega Evolutions they go to Pokémon that already have a Mega Evolution but only have one Mega Evolution.

For all intentives purposes Mega Raichu Y is basically our Mega Pikachu. However since Pikachu itself doesn’t have a Mega that means it likely wouldn’t get a Z- Mega Evolution, especially if it ever did get a Mega Evolution they could just call it Mega Pikachu.

I think the fact they chose Raichu to give two Mega Evolutions to with one said Mega Evolution resembling Pikachu says a lot.

Actually, Liko makes more sense than Roy.

As the MPM series established, Ash's goal of being a Pokemon Master entails befriending every Pokemon in the world. This makes Liko the ideal person because she's extremely empathetic towards humans and Pokemon, much more than Roy, and they would be able to have a fun dynamic because their personalities differ. Also, Liko is the only character in the Horizons cast who has faced conflict when it comes to relating to Pokemon and understanding them, and this would nicely tie into Ash's own goal of befriending every Pokemon.

And in addition to that, Liko and Ash could battle. Meowscarada vs Pikachu could be a fun battle since both Liko and Ash are capable of coming up with fun tricks during the battle.

I'm afraid Roy meeting Ash would contribute nothing of value beyond a cheap battle with a predictable outcome.

If they were to go that direction (and there's no guarantee they will) It might have it be Tera Pikachu vs Gigantamax Pikachu. Something that is already signature to the Pikachu line and Ash's Pikachu has done before.

My reaction would be neutral. However, Id be curious of the serebii forum community's reaction if the electric mouse officially became a member of Team Roy. I find it interesting that both Roy and Friede's eyecatch still included Cap Pikachu during the Friede reunion.

Anything is possible with Gamefreak's decision of what pokemon can or cannot Mega evolve.

Also, since the Pikachu species does not have a natural further evolution without the aid of a evolutionary item, it seems suffice of it having the possibility to Mega evolve since its the evolved form of Pichu. Even more, it would make more sense for Ash to be the one to first showcase it in an anime special.

Probably be the 10,000,000 Thunderbolt Z-Move for Ash's since we haven't seen the G-Max gimmick at all in Horizons and doesn't seem likely to be used anytime soon.

fair point. Of course assuming that any of that battle does end up happening. Which it easily might not. I'm still dubious on them actually meeting even if they are in the universe. Especially after the Meowth was cut from an episode but not the trailer (which might be due to them fearing people mistaking it for TR's meowth). I suspect even if more characters that Ash has met show up they won't mention anything that connects them to Ash.

Honestly it would probably be more of a case that Ash and his Pikachu use their special signature Z-move because it’s specifically unique to him and his Pikachu.

Also the argument that they won’t use Gigantamax and instead would use Z-move over it because we haven’t seen the G-max gimmick at all in Horizons doesn’t work because we also haven’t seen Z-moves at all in Horizons nor is there any indication that they are going to show up.

Despite Ash's goal finally defining the term of his kiddy wish of being a big friend to everyone...it's not going to be surprising how Roy will hog him more than Liko anyway. Why mingle so much with a girl (lol) when he can have an epic battle of the ages Mega 'cario with Mega 'cario.
