Will Liko cross paths with Ash when she returns to Paldea?

Eh, no way they wait 10 years.

Cute thematically but he's too popular and they probably want to recapture older fans soon. Like with Kasumi and Takeshi.
I think a 10 year haitus is reasonable. If they return Ash to the anime on the 10 year anniversery of pokemon journey's debut, it will be in 2029, which is 3 years away.

However, if they return him (Ash) in the year 2033, on the 10th anniversary since ending of " Aim to be a pokemon master" , it will be within 7 years from now.

I think the pokemon franchise realizes people aren't ever going to forget about Ash, since he's now iconic in the main story as the strongest pokemon battler, and the fact that they are aware of online streamers on the net constantly reminding older and newer fans of his (Ash) existence in the anime.

Its sort of like how Goku's been an iconic character since the original ending of dragon ball prior to his return in dragon ball super.

If there's a time to bring Ash back, 2027 would be that time or later, if they want to.

If Ash doesn't appear in Horizons, I'm sure somebody will make a new thread titled "Will [Gen 10 protagonist] cross paths with Ash?"
Technically it would make more sense for him to return in 2027, than in current horizon series. There could be a movie or special for30th anniversary withhim.

If Ash does reappears in 2027, then I hope whatever project, such as a movie or special, the pokemon anime has in production, debuts his return with Mega Z Pikachu as a surprise.

That is extremely unlikely, especially considering that so far the only Pokémon that get Z Mega Evolutions are Pokémon that already have one Mega Evolution and they use the Z in the name of the Z-Mega Evolution to distinguish it from the existing Mega Evolution.

Also in all honesty the fact they gave Raichu two Mega Evolutions and made one being Mega Raichu Y basically look like a Mega Pikachu to the point they call out it’s resemblance to Pikachu makes it extremely unlikely that they would have introduced any Mega Evolution for Pikachu in the near/immediate future.

Because if they were planning to introduce a Mega Evolution for Pikachu there is no reason to go out of their way to give Raichu a 2nd Mega Evolution that looks like a Mega Pikachu.

So basically if do plan on having Ash’s Pikachu Mega Evolve then that would be because decided to have Ash’s Pikachu evolve into Raichu and then Mega Evolve it into Mega Raichu Y.

Also in all honesty when it comes to Ash’s Pikachu it’s pretty clear that the gimmick that they like to mainly associate it with is Z-moves since it has a signature Z-move that is specific to and represents it’s bond with Ash.

Plus Ash’s Pikachu’s move set and battle style has pretty much evolved around to be best suited for using Z-moves.

In all honesty if we’re going to see any existing Pikachu that evolves into Raichu and then Mega Evolves it would be mostly be Friede’s Captain Pikachu, especially because his Charizard initially use Terastalization a lot didn’t prevent him from later Mega Evolving.

Plus in the event that Ash returns (which I admit is definitely not guaranteed), if he uses a mega evolution (which he might not) they could just have him with some new pokemon as his mega (assuming they don't just use his exisiting mega evolution Lucario). There's no reason that he would have to mega evolve Pikachu, he could easily have caught any of the pokemon which newly have megas (depending on where he went lorewise) or have one of his previous pokemon which is mega evolution capable (which he does have multiple). For example if he's been via Hoenn he might have encountered an Absol and could then show off Mega Absol-Z or if he's been via Alola he could have encountered a Crabominable or just mega evolve his existing Dragonite. Unless we actually see a mega Pikachu revealed at this point I'm not going to suspect one as much as I'd like to see it.

I guess we are going to have to agree to disagree on the subject regarding the possibility of a Mega Z Pikachu.

I can think of no reasoning to why it would be unlikely to consider a Mega Z evolution for Pikachu, the mascot of the franchise, and especially Ash's pikachu.

To our knowledge , as audiences, there have been no content presented by gamefreak hinting that mega z evolution is exclusive for pokemon that have one Mega Evolution.

The franchise has often given Pikachu exclusive battle gimmick power-ups, and I see no reasoning for why mega evolution would be excluded.

Its obvious the pokemon franchise favors Pikachu more than Raichu, especially Ash's Pikachu. Having Ash return and reveal a surprise exclusive mega evolution z gimmick for Pikachu would be very germane to his story, since his pokemon have often gotten exclusive power-up forms; Aura Mega Lucario, Ash-greninja and 10 milllion volt Pikachu to speak examples.

There is literally a reason called Mega Raichu Y.

No matter you try to argue it, it doesn’t make any sense to give Raichu a 2nd Mega Evolution that heavily resembles Pikachu to the point that it basically is a Mega Pikachu in all but name and mon it Mega Evolves from if they had plans to introduce an actual Mega Pikachu.

Also if Pikachu were to get a Mega Evolution it wouldn’t be called Mega Pikachu Z it would just be called Mega Pikachu, because Z-Mega Evolutions are for Pokemon that already have a Mega Evolution.

Also in regards to the argument that “
To our knowledge , as audiences, there have been no content presented by gamefreak hinting that mega z evolution is exclusive for pokemon that have one Mega Evolution.” Yes there is something that hints at Mega Z Evolution is only for Pokémon that have that have one Mega Evolution and that is the simple fact that all the current Z Mega Evolutions have been for Pokémon that already had a single Mega Evolution.

Right now there is nothing that indicates or hints that they will give Pokémon that don’t have Mega Evolutions or already have two Mega Evolutions Mega Z Evolutions.

You seem to be misunderstanding something the burden of proof isn’t on proving that Mega Z Evolutions are only for mons with a single Mega Evolution, as the burden of proof is on the idea that it isn’t exclusive only to Pokemon with a single Mega Evolution as there is literally nothing that even remotely suggests, hints or supports this.

Also in all honesty there more likely to have Pikachu stick with unique signature Z-move and then just have Ash come back with a Mega Garchomp Z, Mega Absol Z, or Mega Lucario Z rather then going out of their way to give Pikachu a Z-Mega Evolution when it doesn’t even have a standard Mega Evolution.

Plus let’s be realistic here if they had plans to introduce a Mega Pikachu then they could have easily just called Mega Raichu X Mega Raichu and called Mega Raichu Y Mega Pikachu and make it Mega Evolve from Pikachu.

It extremely unlikely that if mascot of the entries franchise was getting a Mega Evolution that it wouldn’t be one of the Mascots for the Mega Dimension DLC.

No matter how you try to argue this Mega Raichu Y being made to heavily look like Pikachu to the point that the resemblance to Pikachu is specifically pointed out is basically there way of telling you no plans to give Pikachu a Mega Evolution.

There also no need for Ash’s Pikachu to use Mega Evolution when it can just stick to its signature Z-move.

Also in regards to the argument that the franchise obliviously favors Pikachu over Raichu is hilarious when you break down the battle gimmicks they have with Raichu coming out on top which breaks down like this:

Main Battle Gimmicks Pikachu has:
2 Signature Z-moves
Gigantamax Form

Main Battle Gimmicks Raichu has:
Regional Variant with said Regional Variant having a Signature Z-Move
Two Mega Evolutions

I mean heck when push came to shove they specifically decided to give Raichu two Mega Evolutions and make one that heavily resembles Pikachu to the point that it basically looks like a Mega Pikachu over giving Pikachu a single Mega Evolution is really telling.

Let me ask this question: How will Pokemon Horizons Viewers outside of Internet react to the news that Ash Ketchum himself shows up for real in Pokemon Horizons? would they be happy or not about Ash Ketchum, I Doubt This forum would care easily about him returning but the Target audience would care about him actually returning for real.

Will that help Pokemon Horizons's Viewership rate in TV Tokyo exploded just because of Ash Ketchum returning?

The story of Horizon I assume is about nearing its conclusion, possibly through one more arc. It be pointless now for the anime to debut Ash Ketchum in the series.

I think a nice easter egg in reference of Ash Ketchum could have been the RVT passing through a city that showcases the Squirtle squad putting out a fire, but I think I can settle for Steven Stone and the photo of Looker as a reference to the previous series.

They could pull a Yu-Gi-Oh GX and have him surprise fight Lik-bwahahaha, Roy in the end.

I dont think Roy's done enough in his story to deserve the honor of battling a veteran such as Ash.

Aside from possibly catching Rayquaza, Roy has no significant accomplishments in pokemon battling that gives testament of his success a great trainer, and he only has a team of three pokemon, which is pitiful for a first year trainer.

Its possible Ash may return in Gen 10 anime or a movie special, debuting a new battle form for Pikachu, possibly Mega Pikachu Z.

I don't think something like that is possible, as Pikachu doesn't have that form.

It's just the mere fact to pit two Lucario against each other. They're not going to pit his dog against Liko's cat.

Hell, Friede has more chances to fight Ash more than Liko for being Pikachu-centric.

On top of that this ignore how Z Mega Evolution works and how and why the special forms come out to begin with.

I mean heck in all honesty the fact that Mega Raichu Y pretty much looks like a Mega Pikachu to the point where they point it out, is basically there way of saying that they don’t have any plans to give Pikachu a Mega Evolution anytime soon.

Plus all the Pokémon that have Z Mega Evolutions were Pokemon that already have a Mega Evolution to begin with and there is nothing that indicates or hints that future Z Mega Evolutions would suddenly deviate from this.

Please re-read my post carefully. In my post I mention "debutting" as in a reveal within the franchise for the first time, like Ash-Greninja.

Until the pokemon franchise says so otherwise, there is no content mentioned that states a Pikachu is incapable of Mega Z Evolution.

Well anything is possible.

Heck, I surmise by the end of Horizon, Capt Pikachu will officially become Roy's pokemon by the finale of the story.
