Will you continue to watch the dub next season with new voices?

Well the "Mastermind of Mirage Pokemon" special aired today giving us a taste of the voices next season.

Some were good, some were tolerable, and some were really awful. Regardless of how you feel, will you continue to watch the dub of Season 9 this Fall? Or will the new voices alienate you enough to just stick with the Japanese eps?

For me, I'm definitely going to continue watching the dub. It'll be very awkward, but I'm hoping the voice actors can settle into their roles and adapt their own tones instead of mimicking. I only really have a problem with Ash and Brock's voice, everyone else just needs more emotion, but anyway, I'm also going to e-mail PokemonUSA about this regardless hoping for a change.

Well I don't know how to download episodes from Japan so I guess so. I mean they could improve like some people said but I rather take people were already used to listening with but only time will tell.

I'll watch the episodes I didn't catch in Japanese ([spoil]Battle Pike, Dragonair's Lake, and like one or two others[/spoil]). And I might tune in to one of the contests to see how they handle Drew and Harley. I'll also proibably watch the premiere to see if any imrpovement was given. If that last one fails, then who knows.

The special regained my interest in the dub, so yes.
I think Ash's VA has room to improve, and so does everyone else's (heck, that scene with Brock talking about liking girls in his new dub voice was actually more in-character than all the other speaking scenes he had in the special, so there's hope).

I have hope for Team Rocket too. Meowth sounded alright, Jesse sounds okay and James might be able to improve if his voice actor can be more emotional and less like the old one.

Not just the voices, either. The ORIGINAL BGM is now being used, so the episodes after this might feel less corny and more true to the original.

Everyone who stops watching the dub because of just one 40-minute special is overreacting.

I'll continue to watch the dub. I think the VA's just need to improve a bit and then I think they'll be fine. I just hope we don't get the kind of rap intro we got in the special for Season 9. I wonder what the new voices for Drew, Harley, etc. will sound like. I'm gonna miss Harley's current VA alot, he really does a great job voicing him

Well, even though that special made me want to rip off my own ears, I will probably learn to get used to the new dub voices. That's what I will say now, but when the day comes where I have to hear Tracey's new voice (which won't be for a while), we shall see what happens.

I'll watch the series as consistently as I do now, which is watching WB every four morings or so.

I'm going to conutine watching it. I love Pokemon way too much to jsut stop watchign jsut becuase they have new voices. They only wya I won't stop watchign it is if its no longer on TV... then I'll have no choice... but hey, I'm one of the people who liked Pokemon before it was a fad, and I stuilled like Pokemon after it was a fad and I still like Pokemon to this day!

I'll continue watching Pokemon no matter what. It's still my all-time fave anime show. New VAs doesn't mean that I cannot watch it anymore. It'll never stop me from watching Pokemon. It's still part of me since I began watching first episode of Pokemon.

Definitely no. I got tired of the show this year, when I found out there was something better (Fanfiction). I tuned in to the special hoping it won't be a turn-off, but...I had just lost all hope for the anime. It's actually because of the voice actors it reeked. Okay, so I only watched the first two minutes of it, and I couldn't even stand to watch it.

No, I'm never going to watch season 9. For the past five years, pokemon has been going down hill, yet I stayed to see how it would turn out. But now that they fired the old VA's, I'm not even going to bother with it.

I won't(they sucked in the movie). I'll just read the summaries in the main site and the pictures. I'd like to imagine the characters talking in their normal voices instead of the new one.

No. It still sucked. I never liked the characters. The plot kind of sucks. Every episode is so "cliched." It's the "happy ever after" kind of things that I don't like. It's not just the voice actors.

Um, you don't know that. What is it with this forum and jumping to conclusions lately?

I'm pretty stupid. I voted that I would watch a few episodes and then decide, but I meant to vote for "Yes, I will still watch the dub and hope to adapt to the voices." If anything, this change makes me want to watch the dub more than anything. Think about it, we have no idea how PUSA will dub this show; it'll be a whole new experience. It's exciting; I feel like we're getting a whole new show!

Besides, watching the dub is the only way I can see the [SPOIL]Bonsly[/SPOIL] & [SPOIL]Brock contest[/SPOIL] episodes right now, seeing as how I don't know where to download episodes.
