Will you import SoulSilver and/or HeartGold? / Which version are you getting?

Got both games the first time around but this time only getting one or other since theres wifi and both legendarys are in both games.

Getting Heartgold when it ships in the US has better version exclusive pokemon plus you get a higher level Lugia level 70 and level 50 Ho-oh in Silver you get level 70 Ho-oh and level 50 Lugia.

I do have a question though. Is the DSi region locked? I'm planning on getting one (from England) and I want to know if I have an English DSi, will it be compatible with an American copy of SoulSilver/HeartGold?

I've never really looked into it.

Couple questions, do you think they'll carry the figure promotion over like they did with the Giratina figures from Platinum?

Also, if you preorder both, you get all three figures and not just Arc, right?

I would import one of them if I were impatient, but I want to understand everything and I experience the games to the fullest. Having to wait a little longer will make the day I finally get my hands on them more exciting.

Handhelds are not region specific as far as playing them goes. Some of the other features can be region specific, but the DSi should at least play them. Wi-Fi events, however, only work for the language of the game, so if you go to an event in your home country, and have a Japanese game, you will not be able to receive the event. Likewise, if there is a Wi-Fi event in Japan, you will be able to download it in your home country given that it is released over Wi-Fi

I'm not gonna spend over 100 bucks for a game that i can get 6 months later, and i can't understand the laguage it uses, either.

Its just not worth it.

I have a japanese Pokemon game. Sure I didn't know everything going on, but I made it far in the game. I prolly could have kept going, but then either restarted or stopped playing for a number of reasons.

If you're familiar with the games, you'd be surprised, I believe, in how much you understand and all.

I would love to play the games as soon as possible but I don't feel I'll be able to fully enjoy the game in Japanese since I can't read any Japanese. I'll just wait for it to be released here. If I was fluent though I would definitely import it.

Just curious, why does the European version come out months later than the US?

I'm most likely buying Soul Silver since I like Lugia better and my first second generation game was Silver version.

I've changed my mind. I will download Japanese Heartgold and buy english soulsilver. Why? because downloading is free and i don't really like Ho-oh to begin with. Why? because it looks like a turkey, if i were Ash in Pokemon!I Choose You! I would shoot it down and say "Who wants Thanksgiving dinner, I think mom packed stuffing."
