IT BEGINS!

~~~~~
"Casey Thomson, Head Scientist" The badge read, glistening in the morning light. Casey was about to head out of her room to begin training the fighters that had been gathered, but a voice spoke to her again as she opened the door: "Break them free. Stop holding them down..."
Why did that voice come yet again? Casey shook her head and shut the door behind her. She entered the training room and surveyed the mutated there. The others would give their orders for training and later today they would go to fight. "Wonder where Stevensten got off to... we'll need him too..." she muttered under her breath as she stepped into the room.
~~~

Kraken sat upon the waterfall, the very same waterfall, where she had found Suicune. She stared out to the south, knowing she was to leave soon for her share in the battle. She wanted to see to it that there was no more of this... and of course, also to find Belle and Venom. They were alone... who knows what Rathune would do to them.

Kraken sighed, deep in thought. She wanted to go now. As if to fulfill her wish, Suicune appeared behind her. Kraken saw this, however, and spoke to her. "Suicune, when is it my time? I am ready."

The wolfish Pokémon stepped forth and said, "It is time, if you are prepared as you say you are. But you will need a weapon." She spoke expectantly, seeming to know Kraken's answer.

"Then give one to me." Suicune had brought something for her, as well. Everyone needed a way to fight, and though Kraken had some power over the pure water from her training, there would be a need for something else.

A staff with a jagged blade on one end and a sacred water orb at the other was brought out by a Sceptile. "This," Suicune said as the Sceptile gave the blade to Kraken, "Is for you. You have always been good with staffs." Kraken fingered the edge.

Kraken smiled, a rare sight at this point. "Thank you, Suicune. I will use it."

Suicune just smiled back and said, "How about one last night before you leave? I think that you should need the rest."

"Yes... that sounds good. Let us rest for the night." As the three--Suicune, Kraken, and the Sceptile--walked off, Kraken took one look back southward. Her thoughts were simple for once, and she said only a simple thing to herself: "I can only hope."

"Looking for me?" this deep, cold voice... it was Stevensten, standing just to the right of Casey. He smiled in a creepy way, his purple eyes piercing through hers as he stood there... "You must have wondered where I have been, right? Well... I have been following you all this time along... it's just that one does not notice his shadow when he is busy moving foward."

The human stepped foward, toward the mutated, his eyes scanning each and every of them... "Fine specimens you have there. Perfectly healthy and mutated in correct ways. Excellent..."

The human turned around, facing Casey again. "I don't know if I have paid sufficient attention to the last briefing... so please remind me... We're here to train those Pokemon, aren't we?"

Stevensten continued to smile as he stood there. There was something about this man that seemed... threatening. To both humans and Pokemon, everyone could sense something about this trainer... some kind of cold aura of ice blades that pierced through your heart and robbed you of your courage... and then, there was his clothes. A long cape black like the darkest night, black mechanical clawed gloves that made his hands looks like those of demons, those strange dark blue Pokeballs on his belt, and that strange black and dark red Pokegear...

... and then, there were his eyes... his purple, inhuman eyes. If the aura and clothes were not enough, no one could ignore his eyes... eyes that seemed to burn with an unknown rage... a vague hatred of all things... His terrible gaze which broke all those foolish to stare back.

But what was the most creepy about Stevensten was his past... or rather, his lack of a past. Stevensten was an incredibly talented trainer that had appeared out of nowhere, offering his help to the scientists. He had never been sighted before in any town, city, gym, Pokemon Center, or anywhere else... and yet, he fought with such ferocity and with such skill that one wondered why he wasn't a League-conquering Elite trainer...

... and why was he helping the scientists in the first place? Why did he took so much interest in their experiments and in everything they did? A complete mystery...

Yet, as creepy as Stevensten was, he was still an important part of the scientists' forces. This man seemingly had an instinctive ability to lead others, his cold logic allowing him to lead both important and small forces to incredible victories against all odds... and then there was his own abilities on the battlefield. His Pokemon were effective, professionnal... and himself, his hand was steady and precise, both wielding the Pokeball and the gun with equal ease.

Also, although he was a bit nosy frankly... he was a loyal and totally dedicated agent. He never hesitated and is ready to assume his responsabilities, doing whatever must be done for oders to be fulfilled.

Casey turned her head to the right with a jerk. "Oh, there you are. Immpecible timing. Yes, we are to train these for the battle. I'm glad that we were able to find so many..." She smiled and closed her eyes for a moment, turning to the room again.

Other scientists started to enter from the opposite door, moving around to their assigned Pokémon (or person) to wake them up. Soon the training would begin anew, and soon they would have enough fighters to face Rathune, and perhaps get her back.

Killing any tainted is not part of the plan.

Coming across the path that he knew suicune kraken and the skeptile would be on Red Dragon sat and thought back to the events that had happened recently…

The army had been training hard for the past few months as signs of war started appearing. It soon became apparent that they had a long way to go. His main failing was that though his powers of fire were great he couldn’t control them.
He had so much rage, hate and anger in his past that when he was extremely upset he could go on a rampage destroying most things in his path.
The one time that this happened he nearly killed a passing nidoking, luckily kraken was there to stop him before things got to hot. After that he managed to keep his emotions in cheek with the help from suicune and kraken. The three of them had become good friends and they knew that that would help them in the upcoming battles. Red Dragon’s head snapped up as he heard footsteps approaching…..

Life sucks, man.
"Relax, Red Dragon, it is only I. Lugia." Lugia slipped out of the trees into clear view. Upon sight, Red Dragon relaxed and lay his head back down. "Patience, they are coming now."

Suicune, Kraken, and the Sceptile came into view along the path and Lugia strode over to them. His eyes remained fixed on Suicune, paying no heed to the other two.

"Suicune, I have made contact with our informant in the Scientist camp. They are nearly ready to begin their search for Rathune. Their interference may become hostile if they are not stopped."

Lugia stopped Suicune before she could reply, "However, that is the last communication I will be able to get from the Croconaw. It seems that he was killed shortly after I left. They are claiming he was 'defective', but I assume it was because of our contact. Rest assured, Suicune, this is only a minor setback. I will find another way, even if I have to go there myself! Now if you will excuse me, I have other matters to attend to."

Lugia walked by, not looking at them as he passed, leaving them with Red Dragon. But as he left, he turned back and stared at Kraken until she was out of sight.

"That... scaly, green girl... she is so unlike me... and yet, there is something about her that I find... intriguing, even... attractive! I must find out more about her!"

He stared ahead again as he walked on, but Kraken was still stuck on his mind.

"Wallllreiiiin!"

"Be queit Blizzard. They'll hear us!" Ellena looks back through the bushes as the Lugia leaves. Suicune, the Sceptile, the weird Charizard, and the mutated human/fish thing continue to stand around. "Too late." The charizard starts to walk over. Ellena stands up.

"Hi there! I'm looking to join Suicune's army," Ellena shouts. Blaze rolls her eyes and continues to sit on the ground.

Suicune nods and says something to Kraken. Kraken walks over.

Kraken smiled at Red Dragon. "Hello Red." She gave the Charizard a small hug. Lugia spoke to Suicune for a moment without looking at her, but she saw him look back directly at her as he walked off. He is... so different from the rest. He chose his path to become different than he was...

A voice chimed out of nowhere, "Hi there! I'm looking to join Suicune's army." Kraken turned to face the girl who had said it. Pure still. She sighed to herself.

Suicune whispered to Kraken, "Well, go and introduce yourself. Tell and show her she is welcome here."

Kraken nodded and stepped up to the bushes. She extended a strange webbed hand and said hospitibly, "Welcome to the forest of Suicune. We are glad to have you here. Please, come with us."

"Thanks! Uh...these are my pokemon. Blizzard the Walrein, Blaze the Blaziken, Earthshake the Swampert, Metallic the Metagross, Ty-rex the Tyranitar, and Dragona the Salamence. They're going to help." Ellena smiles really big and puts all but Dragona back in their pokeballs.

Ellena walks over to the awaiting Suicune, Sceptile, and Charizard. "What's your names?" she asks the Sceptile and the Charizard.

"Sorry I'm late!" yelled Crystal running over a hill towards the small group. "Wait up Cris!" yelled Gail, a Totodile struggling to keep up with her human-ish friend. "Sorry Gail" said Crystal quietly stopping, her jet black hair blowing in her face. The two of them walked slowly over to the group, "Hey Red Dragon, Kraken, Luigia, Suicine, and uh... Sceptile dude, sorry but I forget your name" Crystal said shuffling her feet in her flip flops and blushing. Gail laughed "Hi guys!" she said with a big smile. "Oh yeah," Crystal said seeing the new comer standing there, "Who's this?" Crystal felt her old shyness spreading back in and the new girl looked at her odly. This is what I hate about being a mutant. People always look at you funny Crystal thought with a sigh. It could be worse. Crystal shot a quick look at Kraken, Sometimes I feel bad for her, but I know she doesn't want me to and I shouldn't. Ah well that's life. She held her hand out, trying to make her claws look less sharp. "Hi," She said to the new girl and there was a Salamence too she noticed, not like that was hard, "I'm Crystal" she forced herself to smile shyly, "And this is Gail"

"Ummm....Hi! My name's Ellena Barkley. I've traveled here all the way from Hoenn." She smiles and shakes Crystal's hand...which has claws. "This is Dragona, my Salamence. He plans to watch this." Ellena smiles again.

"So, I'm guessing that's Red Dragon. Ok. Are we all here?" Ellena looks around for anymore approaching people and/or creatures.

The Sceptile who had come with Suicune to the falls laughed a bit. "My name is Mori, and it's fine you forgot, Crystal. There are many Sceptile in this forest." He was hardly noticable, but he was one of Suicune's long-time friends and always was there to help her.

Kraken held a straight face as she spoke just like a military officer would, "The others are deeper in the forest. Suicune and I will show you the way. I assume you will follow, Crystal and Red Dragon?" She turned to the narrow forest trail, pointing at it with her newly accquired staff.

Her fin was relaxed and up, a good sign. Kraken was in one of her better moods now.

Crystal smiled kindly at Ellena and Dragona, "Kraken's fin is relaxed," she whispered,"It's a good sign that today is a good day to join the army. Yeah and I used to live in Hoenn too." Crystal felt a few tears in her eyes, but wiped them off quickly Gail giggled a bit, attempting to cheer Crystal up. "I'm Gail," the little Totodile said. "Me and Gail are coming of course" Crystal said turning to Kraken, "And I'm guessing Red's coming too?" Crystal looked off at the trees, distracted remebering her family, wishing that she could go home. She remembered her mother, they were like best friends. And Squirt.... She stopped thinking there, more like forced herself to stop, or else, she knew from experience, she would end up in tears shaking and crying like she did almost every night. no one knows but me: Squirt's death is my fault.

There was a whisper on the wind; an almost inaudible cry of pain. She stopped, crouching. There it was again. She sniffed the feeble breeze; there was a faint scent of fear to her left, a rattata, not the source of the cry, and a pidgey further on to her right. It's breath came in harsh gasps, and the metallic tang of blood penetrated the air around it. Onxy slunk deeper into the shadows. She had more important work too do.

For nearly two days now she had been hunting. Her prey, an idiotic "brave heart" from Suicune's army, was wounded and slowing. She was so close... her markings flashed once, twice. Feeling the first pangs of madness, she took a deep breath and focused on her task. If she lost it now she could blow it, alert her prey of her presence. Just a little longer...

Ooc: ok I have noticed people start to abbreviate Red Dragon to just Red and I’m letting you know that that’s fine and that I will most likely abbreviate it to that as well.

BIC: “Unfortunately I will not be coming. I have to meet with Onyx one of my contacts in rathune’s army. I’m just hoping that she isn’t hunting again the last time she nearly bit off one of my wings.” The others chuckled in silent mirth at the thought of an Umbreon taking off one of Red’s 7 foot wings. "I will be back soon." after giving a salute to Suicune Red Slipped off into the forest and started to run to where he knew rathune’s camp to be….

…. “Milady I have more information on the movements of Suicune’s army. There are amassing deep in the forest and should be marching out within a day or so. The will be coming straight south right at us.”
“You have done well Red.”

“Wait I have more, I have heard a rumor that Lugia himself might be visiting the Lab within a few days.”

“You are a good and faithful servant and you shall be rewarded as such. Now bring this misinformation to Suicune and her pitiful army….”

Several hours later.
“Suicune I believe she bought it. But unfortunately I had to authenticate it somehow so I told her of Lugia’s plan to visit the lab himself.”

“It was something that was unavoidable but otherwise good job.” Suicune quickly summoned a waiting Butterfree and gave her instructions to warn Lugia of the information that had been given.

Crystal sat by a small lake in the forest. They had been walking for hours and decided to take a break. Crystal took off her flip-flops and stuck her feet in the water, remembering how she used to swim everyday. With Squirt. She looked quickly around to make sure no one was there and let the tears she had been holding back all day. She pulled her legs out of the water and hugged her knees quietly until she heard a few footsteps. She whirled around tears staining her eyes to see who it was. It was Kraken.

OOC: L_M, I'll leave Ejunknown to decide what happens with that post. e.e It confused me.

BIC: Kraken strode down to the lake. She was just planning on taking a little dip, but she saw Crystal there, crying and holding her knees. "Crystal, what is it? You aren't like this often." The sea dragon sat down next to the girl who looked as though she had been spliced with a Mightyena.

Kraken's scaly, strange feet dipped as well into the pond. Water was now her element, her second home. It was comfortable to feel it lapping gently against her forelegs. She turned back to Crystal with caring, sapphire eyes.

Crystal sighed, "I know you think it's unlike me, but I do this every night. I was thinking about swimming, which I used to do with my Wartortle, Squirt, but then he, he...."Crystal cut off here gulping for air through her tears,"died. He was killed by tainted Pokemon the day I was mutated. I really miss him." Crystal finished searching Kraken's face. "It's really sort of my fault. I was about to turn around and tell him that they were there, the tainted Pokemon, but then I blacked out."Crystal burst into tears again, unable to hold them back, but she struggled to say, "He was my best friend." Crystal dipped her feet back into the pond and pulled out her guitar, strumming a few cords to make her feel better. It always had before this.

BIC: Lugia's swift, silent feet barely touched the ground as he took off into the air, but was eventually intercepted by a Butterfree.

"Sir, I have a message from Red Dragon and Suicune! They say to not go to the Scientist's lab! They had to feed that particular information to Rathune so she would take the bait. Everything is fine, otherwise."

"Thank you, now leave. I have something to do now." He coldly dismissed the Butterfree as he went into a meditative state in the air.

Suicune, what do I do now? he asked psychically. I need to some more get information, but without an informant, I need to get there! Should I let them capture me? In either form I am more than a match for a few of them. What should I do? There was a pause, then he continued.

If I may, I'd like to meet with you by the waterfall in a few minutes, regardless of your descision. My mind is filled by the thought of this 'Kraken' girl, and would like to speak to you about her, as ancient friends...

Pravus glared at the beings that surrounded him. They always surrounded him, always. And he hated them just as much as he hated everyone else, perhaps even more.

Pravus knew very well what was going to happen. They were going to "train" him. He would have to make sure he didn't kill anyone, no matter how much he wanted to. It was part of his brilliant plan, after all - to stay on the scientists' side until he reached the point where they would no longer be needed. And that point was not far away. Pravus felt it in the air and in his skin. He felt it in the voices of the scientists, he felt it in the cries of the mutated Pokémon he had spent his life with for as long as he could remember. He could almost see it and touch it. There was no question about it... Very soon, it would be time to leave this forsaken prison.

Pravus closed his eyes and dreamed of the fruits of his efforts. The plan would not fail. There might be some minor setbacks, but it would simply not fail. After all, something that one has poured all the time and energy of one's entire life into is -

Pravus was interrupted. A human stood before him, and had just shouted something to wake him up. The Steelix pretended not to notice at first, but then slowly rose from his coiled position on the floor. He became taller and taller until he towered so far above the scientist that if Pravus had decided to suddenly lie down again, he would have helped the world by removing from it yet another human.

Pravus roared. He hated the humans. He despised them. He saw most of them as filth, but some he feared. He remembered once, when he had fought a human - this human had had claws that pierced his iron-like hide as if it had been butter. He recalled the pain...

The Steelix inspected the room. Obviously, he was not the only one in for training today. Pravus snorted. He felt powerful as he looked down upon the tiny creatures that would one day bow to him. He didn't only feel powerful; he was powerful. And he would show it.

He stared at the human he was meant to train with. He did not have to say anything; it was already clear that he was ready.

Kraken sighed. "I, too, have lost my Pokémon. Both of them. My Arbok, my Milotic... both gone. I don't know if they're dead, mutated, tainted... and I may never find out." She looked like she would cry, but Kraken had lost her ability to cry with her mutation. No tears came.

With a friendly tone she asked Crystal, "If you still feel like taking a dip, I would not mind. The water is quite comfortable today. But my opinion may be a little off." She smiled warmly.
