Winter Special #1! Dialga & Palkia! The Space-time Cataclysm!! (1178)

In the AU she was runner up of the Sinnoh League . So Satoshi would be the runner up of the Grand Festival.
If we’re keeping consistent in parallels to the main universe, Ash would have been top 4 in the Grand Festival.

This episode raised a bunch of questions related to Sinnoh's lore that I'm really not sure the writers will actually pay off. Like how did the red chain get rebuilt. Did they somehow recover the data from Team Galactic and kidnap the lake trio again? And why is Giratina still being excluded from being referenced all these years later? I get the remakes are for DP bit come on, this is just lazy exclusion when you know good and well disrupting the balance of time and space causes Girantina to appear.

Maybe it's just me being overprotective because Sinnoh is my favorite reason and I love the lore behind its legendaries, but I really don't feel like this episode accomplished much at all. With only one other episode left to this arc, these writers have a lot to explain and resolve and they've repeatedly dropped the ball with past arcs when faced with similar situations. For now I can only give the episode a 5.5/10 until I see how they follow it up.

And that's precisely why I never wanted them to appear again. Could have done Giratina and/or Arceus as they've yet to properly appear in the anime itself, just movie roles thus far.

I do like that Cynthia has Kommo-o, at least somebody of importance owns the species now. Hopefully she has Spiritomb too... them expanding on her team should ease any doubts one may have on Ash battling her, it's totally gonna happen. If she's gonna appear frequently due to her insane popularity then I say make use of it, show off her team so only one or two Pokemon are left in the air. It's clearly a Masters reference too, thankfully they're not changing her into a Dragon specialist

This episode was better than I thought but Pokemon de-evolving onto eggs is really random. This whole arc is random. Nice seeing Dawn and Ash interact

Eh my first impression is that this ep was honestly pretty boring. Tbf i wasn’t particularly excited for this arc, so i got what i expected.

The only thing i was curious and interested about from the trailers was what was going on with palkia and dialga, having it revealed from the start it’s all TR just took away all my interest. The action was not exciting and the characters interactions are bland. It was all pretty meh at the end.

Like this is the kind of ‘serious’ and ‘mysterious’ plot that should be making people feel tense, when it deals with two world shaling legendaries, but all i feel is indifference.

There hardly was anything new in this episode because all the pre-release info basically spoiled 90% of it. What the hell. I know this is a special to celebrate the games, but please keep ALL the highlights under wraps.

By the way, Bizzaro Dawn's and Ash's names are Nwad and Sha, because all of this is backwards.

Then there's Goh's Hog, who ironically doesn't do what his backward name suggests.
So the other Hikari was the runner-up in the Sinnoh League, not the winner.
Even in another universe, these main characters get screwed up.

But if she was the second place...that's progress, I guess.
Where the hell was Ash's Kalos League runner up trophy?
Hey. Making those anti-gravity battlefields ain't cheap!

I don’t think this episode was bad, but it does feel small scale compared to the promos and the only thing keeping me invested is wondering how they’re going to get Lucario & Inteleon back

I just ran, I ran all Night and Day ~
It was better than I thought it'd be tho Nothing major happened besides Lucario and Inteleon getting kidnapped

Next week looks interesting but it'll undoubtedly be rushed

Gotta love how AU TRio are super competent compared to the actual counterparts. You can say that they were wearing suits to nullify the AU time effects, but still I like to see TRio to defeat Ash & co. despite how tiring we have to see them as recurring villains. AU Jessie got upset and AU TRio retreated to their portals when Cynthia outplayed them when she quickly noticed that her Garchomp forgetting a move wasn't
normal.

I feel bad for AU Dawn & AU Ash, as their Pokemons got devolved and turned back into eggs. Especially, AU Dawn was the runner up of the Sinnoh Pokemon League and she might have a better chance if her AU Piplup didn't forget a move due to the Sinnoh legendary duo clash.

So the twerps got separated with Dawn & Goh together in the AU, while Ash & Chloe stayed behind until the 2nd AU battle with Cynthia. I would say that nothing much happened for the 2 groups, with the formers meeting AU Dawn at her house while the latters went to a library to find info about the Sinnoh mascot legendaries.

Overall, the episode was decent. There's a lot of dialogues and it was made as a build-up for the next episode. Still, I like the 1st Dawn cameo Journey episodes better because her & Chloe got to do more overall.
