You know how Emerald works with a wireless adapter, right? So why didn't they include one with it like in Leaf Green?

They probably didn't include the wireless adapter with Emerald for the same reason they didn't include it for other games (like Digimon Racing and some Mario games) that are compatible with it -- they make more money by having you buy it separately. Plus, many people would probably buy both Emerald and one of FR/LG, so the majority would have a wireless adapter anyway.

Not saying I support it, though. Emerald's a much better buy than LeafGreen, IMO.

The Wireless Adapter is rather pointless in my opinion. But if I am going to any events in the UK I have to have one anyway (apparently). Why do I have to? (Won't a link cable work just as well?)

The wireless adapter is useful, as it has a slightly larger range than a regular link cable, and it just feels so good to go wireless. Granted, the technology's not really good enough to justify its use for GBA, but it's been done, so why not take advantage of it?

The wireadaptor is completly and utterly useless

Think about the Nintendo DS and Wi-Fi That goes for ages and the swireless adaptor goes 5 Meters or so.

Not really. The Link Cable can come undone when trading. If that occurs, the trade was disrupted and you have to start the trading process over again. The wireless adapter is more reliable because you don't worry about your signal (for using the cable) being disrupted.

The reason WHY the person who started this post did not receive a Wireless Adapter when they purchased LG is because there are two different versions of FR/LG, but they are the same. The ones with the Adapter are Versions 1.0 while the ones without it are Versions 1.1. Both versions play the same, the only difference for a 'different version' is that they lack the Adapter wasn't included.

Because FireRed & LeafGreen weren't real generations of the games. They are just remakes of the first ones; Red & Blue. So if they were going to give it to Emerald they could of gave it to any of the other games too. It's hard to explain but it makes more sense with it with FR/LG.....
In my opinion.

*Goes to Wireless Adaptor's defense*

It's not completely useless. And GameBoys don't have Wi-Fi stuff, some people who have wireless adaptors might not have DSes.

But as for the question, dunno.

it saved then probably thousands of dollars to ship it without the adapter...

the adapter costs money so they thought heck we could get them to buy it separately...

You sorta hit it right. The wireless adapter came out about the same time as FireRed and LeafGreen. Nintendo knew a good amount of people would buy these games because it's Pokemon so included it for free with the first printing of the game. They wanted the wireless adapter to get out there a bit so people without it would want it and buy it individually.

Thus, this is why Emerald does not have one. The adapter had been out for a while. Nintendo expects you to buy one now.

Video game accessories are hard to market. You have to give people good reasons to buy them. Nintendo not including one with Emerald but including the features is a good reason for some people to buy one for those who didn't get one thanks to the first print of FireRed or LeafGreen. At least, that's Nintendo's thinking. Sure, the Union Room is neat, but it's definitely not mandatory.
