With the age of Wi-Fi battling coming...

This might be a bit useful as a poll, but will people really go far and EV train their pokemon and pit them in the Wi-Fi world?

I mean, I just kind of hate the idea of EV training and all that, but that's just me.

I am merely wondering what you guys think of the issue, I highly doubt I will go EV training unless I go like 10 straight losing matches or whatever.

Mostly in high-scale competitions will people go through with EV training. I'm too lazy to be bothered, however I feel I can hold my own in some tournements.

I'm sure once it's released in the US the forum will pick-up and double or triple in activity. Not just from the game, but from Wi-Fi.

Also, people will have more of a reason to EV train, since know they can fight each other, instead of you fighting your friend who just uses legendaries and has HMs on all of them. With Wi-Fi the elite trainers will get to fight other elites, and have a real challenge for once.

So more people will definitely start Ev training. Breeding will occur much more two, with all the rare pokemon.

when you said it will double or triple in activity
It will break records i think
i just think alot of people are going to cheat

Cheat? How so? By getting AR pokemon?

EDIT: And you're right. Just about every member activity record will be broken, so many people will join too. The first Friday & Saturday night after the release will be so ridiculously crowded, I'm betting, as well as everyday for at least a month.

EDIT2: Though I'm sure in tournements here there will be rules and restrictions regarding that subject.

In my case, I mean, I'm going through Emerald and raising some pokes so I can pass them to D/P, but I am not training them on EVs, maybe just breeding them to get those nifty moves and that's it.

Yeah, I know what you mean.

I'm trying to mold together a solid team for competitive play. As of now, it's looking like my Wi-Fi battle team will be

Swampert
Kyogre
Jynx
Crobat
Hitmontop
Umbreon

In case legendaries aren't allowed, I'll likely whip out a Typhlosion, as a solid filler. Jynx & Crobat only need 4 more levels to get to 100, and Hitmontop & Umbreon need about 50. I haven't even gotten the Cyndaquil yet. xD Hopefully Mt. Battle will yield a lot of EXP again.

In terms of lag, I'm sure it will, but they might expand the site and soup up the server, or just move the site somewhere else. It's possible if it gets that bad.

EDIT: In terms of cheating, I don't think Nintendo will make much of a fuss unless someone is reported, provided that Wi-Fi in pokemon has a report feature, which I'm doubting it'll have.
