DP has many new items including hold items...one of these is the Beautiful skin that always allows the holder to switch out(according to the news)...if your pokemon has this hold item then I think Wobbuffet's ability of shadow tag can be of no use with this hold item...with this item I think that in DP wobbuffet should not become an uber...correct me if I'm wrong...

(according to http://www.serebiiforums.com/showpost.php?p=1221319&postcount=1 ) Wobbuffet is banned due to its combination of Shadow Tag and Encore, which forces an opponent to either use a non-damaging move or be killed without being able to switch out a pokemon. It's very difficult to attack Wobbuffet without being fainted because of Destiny bond...correct me if I'm wrong again...

It will be possible to escape from it, but i think people will still call it an uber.
Meh it'll still be an uber, mianly for the fact that Beautiful Skin is a hold item, and there are better ones out there (Leftovers, Choice Band etc)
I mean... you're not likely to equip a pokemon with the skin just because theres a SMALL POSSIBILITY of running into an arena trap/Shadow tag pokemon...

Seriously though, it'll still be an uber... in tournements and competitive battling and such people will most likely be using Focus Bands and the like... it would save more trouble then allowing Wobbuffet in the HOPE that someone is using the BS.

I know. It won't make any difference. I don't see this item as becoming a "common" item. No one will want to give their Metagross that item over his usual Choice Band/Left Overs. No one will want to replace Left Overs on their Regice. And know one will want to replace their Salac berries on their Blazikens/Heracrosses.
Oh I know that, but who's gonna replace their normal items such as Choice Band, left over's, certain berries, just on the off chance they bumb into Wobby?

first off there are moves that mirror coat/counter dont work on,i.e. seismic toss and night shade,and people will still call him uber unless we get to put 2 items on the pokemon,Beautiful skin and the normal item,

no, Seismic Toss, Night Shade, Dragon Breath and IIRC Endeavor (all attacks that takes opponent´s HP directly) can be Countered/ MirrorCoated.You can´t Counter Ghost Pokémon nor Mirror Coat Dark Pokémon.
The only damagable attacks that can´t be Countered/Mirror Coated are Future Sight and Doom Desire.
I think this item will just be used if in double battles your 2nd Pokémon can´t switch. Even if this happens, there´re chances to use Leftovers instead.
