I know pusa owns the anime now but I'm talking about the earlier episodes.you think the anime would get alittle more respect if back then it was dubbed by another companyand if so lets start discussing.

i do aggree on that (it's at least one good thing 4kids ever did) and when you think about it, pokemon lost almost all it's popularity when the movie premeried and everyone hated it. fact is that the movie was the first time that they decited to change all the music and mess up the scripts! you'd think that would tell them that mabey the origonal BGM is the best way to go. but oh well, their loss. anyway as for what it would be like w/o 4kids? first off it depends on who ended up with it, but chances are no matter who got it that it wouldn't have started out quite as overly marketed and popular!

Questions like this always bring out the inevitable wiseass remarks about how the Japanese version is full of sex and violence (which it isn't, BTW), and there's always one poor schlub who believes 'em.
On topic, I think that another dubbing company would have treated the show with more respect. 4Kids Entertainment has a reputation of not giving half a crap about the quality of their programming, just so long as it makes them billions of dollars, and thus, they really dropped the ball on just about everything they've ever gotten the rights to.

4Kids was for me a great way into anime and opened up the doors to my Pokemon interest. I will always respect their actors/actresses, and I liked the editing out of Japanese signs ;p.

Its hard to say since there wasn't much dubbing companies that dubbed Japanese anime back around 10 years ago, (might be wrong here), but if it was in a different company, possibilites it could have gone for the better, or it could gone for the worst.
But, its a pity how they made so many unnecessary edits 4 Kids made, and actually the first 2 seasons was great, but then 4 Kids took Pokemon in their own hands editing out even more as everyone all know.
