The following error has been fixed, so don't even bother trying it now.
Earlier yesterday, Target.com screwed up and listed the Nintendo DS on their online catalog for their "December Gather Round" as being only $99.99. People immediately saw this and took advantage of this by printing out the site and showing this to Target clerks. It got to the point where Target decided to just say the hell with it and had just allowed people to buy Nintendo DS' for the advertised price as long as they brought in a legit proof (aka a print out of the site).
Others, including myself, got an even sneakier idea. People took even more advantage and brought in these print outs to places such as Wal-Mart and Circuit City. They matched the price with a DS being under $90 and added a game to add onto the matched price. Circuit City gave you the DS for under $90 (usually for $80) and a crappy $20 game (ATV Quad Frenzy). In the end it would cost less than $110. Of course, it gets even better when they'd return the game for a refund the next day or so, ending up having a DS cost them as less as $77.
Target has now fixed their online catalog to $129.99. However, from what I've heard, you can bring the $99.99 print out in stores until Dec. 12. If you don't have it printed out, you cannot get the $99 deal.
Here's how it's worked out for me.
• Promo Package - $0.00
• Nintendo DS Game System - $80.00
• ATV Quad Frenzy - $19.99
• Subtotal - $99.99
• Sales Tax (on $99.99) - $6.50
• TOTAL - $106.49
So by returning the game tomorrow, I'll have paid $86.50 for a Nintendo DS as well as getting $20 back.
