Worry Seed could be used theoretically to stop them from using Rest, or to get rid of Regigigas' Slow Start.

My guess would be that it would be useful in countering dangerous abilities which act according to the situation.
One example for it would be using it on any of the starter pokemon who have Blaze, Torrent & Overgrow as there ability. Using Worry Seed on them would cause there ability to change to Insomnia. So basically they would not get the boast which the starter pokemon would have gotten when there HP is below 1/3rd of the full.
Also if you are playing a double battle, you can use it to remove the problematic abilities of some of your own pokemons (like that of "Slaking") in the double battle team.

Worry Seed is useful since it will not let a pokemon have a Sleep Condition which means no Rest.

To sum up everything, Worry seed changes a pokemon ability to Insomnia, which prevents Sleep.
In other words, it:
A) Prevents target from using Rest.
B) Overwrites the original ability.
What B means is that you can use Worry Seed on Regigigas and overwrite Slow Start with Insomnia, making Regigigas much more useful.

In Double Battles, I use Jumpluff with Regigigas. Jumpluff is fast so he can pull of Worry Seed quickly. Worry Seed does not work with Slaking. Someone up there said it does but it doesn't.

Pokemon with the Guts ability + Toxic/Flame Orb, Poison Heal Breloom + Toxic Orb, Quick Feet + Facade + Toxic/Flame Orb Ursaring and other pokemon also lose their effectiveness after losing their abilities. It can be effective, depending on your opponent. :3

Sadly, levitating Bronzongs disapprove Worry Seeds. It screws Bronzongs over, rendering them vulnerable to ground attacks.

it completely wrecks machamps, no rest talks, and dynamic punch goes back to an AMAZING 50% chance to hit, also any levitate pokes now become succeptible to ground moves, bronzong and weezing dont like it much..
