Worth it?

I have a DS, so there's no real point to get the game currently. However, I could still get a used GBA and the game when I get some cash (I still have the GBA/GC cord.)

I'm just not sure if it's even worth shelling out the cash to do so.

Depends...

If you have Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald/LeafGreen/FireRed, there's no inherent use for neither Colosseum nor XD. The only benefit you'll get is from XD, and the good exclussive Moves.

If you only have Emerald and LeafGreen, XD will come in handy very well. You'll get most Pokémon this way. If you only lack 2nd Gen Pokémon, Colosseum is a better choice.

I do think both are good games on their own, but just get them if you will have some use for them...

In that case, XD is a very good investment. You'll get most Hoenn Pokémon you can't (Meditite, Lunatone, Zangoose.), a few Johto Pokémon that are hard to get (3 Johto Starters, Hoppip, Larvitar.) and a vast majority of Kanto Pokémon. You'll also get Lugia and they'll have exclussive Moves to boot. It also doubles as a 3D Battling engine and to get some hard-to-get Items (Lucky Egg and Berries like Ganlon and Salac.).

I say it's a good thing...

Yes. You should consider getting XD because it would add a lot of pokemon to your dex. You should also consider Leef Green. Between LG, XD and Emerald I have caught almost every pokemon.

I plan on gettting to get XD next week if pokemon channel don't come through next week I want jirachi off it I can't get gave sapphire to my friend till I get channel

You don't get Jirachi from XD. You could get it from the bonus disk if you pre-ordered Collesseum. You can get Lugia on this game though.

Buy the game to play it. XD is a good game, it's not just a tool to get Pokemon from Kanto. --;​

^What Sidereal said. XD is fun but it's not exactly the best pokémon game ever. They could've done more with it.

even though the first one is hard as crap and the second one is funner get both...theyre worth it in so many ways..

after you beat them you can trade some pkmn to ruby/sapphire/fire/leaf

breeding avability to get cool pkmn you want..

and if you erase r/s/f/l then you can make a new file and trade them to c/xd and train them for the hard battles ahead...


Personally i like xd better...cause its a little easier to beat
