Would Sneasle mak a good special sweeper?

I searched and found no thead like this, so may I ask: Would Sneasle make a good special sweeper on FireRed?

Although he looks cool, his stats scream "NO! NO! NO!"
Max Attack: 317
Max Sp.Attack: 185

Basically, Sneasel only has Attack and Speed. Not great when you're an Ice/Dark type. I'm praying that when D/P rolls around they will shuffle his stats like no pokemon has ever been shuffled.

Also, while we're on the subject of Sneasel in D/P, why does he need an evolution? He already has adequate stats - just not in the right places.

Cause what you said, his stats could be upped and so could it's specials. (Maybe Manyula will get a decent Ice attack)

But since when does an evolution completely change the layout of a pokemon's stats? Having said that, I suppose it is possible (in which case there would be no need for Sneasel at all)

Your better to use a physical type attacker as your physical sweeper. Aerodayctal. Hitmonlee and Tauros are a few. If you wan't a special sweeper go Alakazam.

Didn't that happen with Syther & Scizor? Though a drop in speed, Scizor recieved a boost in attack. So a shuffle around of pokemon's stats during evolution is possible. Maybe they're trying to repair the damage done to Sneasel.
