I am still new here, so I'd figured I'd ask here first, before actually, posting it o_o So, here's what I will post >>;; If It's not appropriate there, could someone please point in the right direction of a forum it would be?
Thanks in advanced <3
"My problem has nothing to do with my computer, but of my Japanese Fire Red Cartridge. It use to work fine all the time, but it never exactly fit into my gameboy correctly (leading me to believe it could've been a bootleg, but I'll never know. My friend got her fire red in a box, and it's the same size as mine...but yeah)
One day when I was taking it out, I was a bit more forceful than normal. As soon as I did that, my data erased. I was a bit upset since I was at the E4, but I shrugged it off since it wasn't the first time something like this happened. I plug the game back in, and I start up a new character. I go to save, and I get some weird error. I can't read Japanese, so I have no idea what the error even said. It happened every time I tried to save, so every time I'd load up, it would always be at a "new game" screen.
Well, the thing is when I trade Pokemon (like the starters), I have no problem since it's very well behaved when I trade, but as soon as the power goes off, and it is as if I never saved. So I need to start a new file again. Despite it having "saved"
Well, my dad fixing machines for a living, I let him look at the cartridge. Since I learned just the other day that it could've been possible for the battery to go bad, I’d figured perhaps he could discover this huge mystery. He looked at it, didn't see anything abnormal (like he did when he fixed my PS2 memory card) and gave it back to me. He checked the battery, and I believe he said it was at 2 watts.
So, I would want to know is, if anyone would happen to know what the appropriate voltage for that battery should have been, or if anyone could think of any possible solutions? Or even, any websites that could be helpful in this situation. "
