As the question says would you have liked it to be the boy of Diamond version instead of Hikari or maybe instead of another character like Brock?

Would you have liked it if the Diamond boy had joined the group instead of Hikari?

Hmm... it really depends...
- If May and Max stay with Brock, Ash, and the D/P boy, there'll be five people in the group. It'd make me wonder what the D/P boy would do, but it'd probably we what Hikari should be doing right now.
- If May and Max still left, then the cast would be Ash, Brock, and the D/P boy. There'd be no girls in the cast, which would be pretty boring.
-If it were Ash, Hikari, and the D/P boy, then... well, see what I said about him in the first one. Basically, whatever he'd do is what Hikari should be doing.
Regardless of what happened, Ash would get his clothes changed to something else. Anyway, I would've prefered that the group be Ash, May, Brock, and Hikari.

yea I didn't get why they made Shinji the rival and not that blonde haired kid. With him in the story, it could make intersting ties to the battle tower with the rival's brother. And Ash could meet Baku, Momi, Gen, etc

If you've seen Shinji in action, you'd be very happy that the writers chose to introduce him than the blonde rival from the games.
Shinji is totally awesome, easily the best thing in the D/P series thus far.
As for this topic, no, because Hikari >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> him.
Though, to be fair, they could easily have assigned the awesomeness of Shinji to the D/P Rival.

Well, It seems that Diamond is doing better than Pearl is on sales.

Well, Kouki should have replaced Takeshi. =___= God, he is so pointless nowadays. Though, giving him Greggle was a smart move on the writers' part. Let's see how far they'll take it. (I do have my doubts on him ever being fully redeemed, though.)

Shinji is great and all(yes, i've seen him in action,) but you ever consider having the writers give the same nasty personality Shinji has into D/P rival dude?
Shinji pass too much like Kanon (aka Silver) from Johto. Might as well introduce him instead

Well to answer the about D-boy, I would say no since it wouldn't give the same vibe to the anime, and I do agree D-boy does look a lot like Ash with the clothing, then obviously they would of had to change Ash to something different. And then there gonna be no girls, which would turn off some female off the market of Pokemon. (Its all about ratings and $$$.)

I would've wanted it to be Hikari as May's new rival and DP boy to be Ash's. Then Max would get a Bulbasaur from May and Ash's Bulbasaur or a Slakoth from his dad and then go on his own journey. The new crew then would be May,Ash,and Brock. Yeah thats how Id like it.
