Hi people

Ima relativly new author and i love to write espically me nwe fanfic. The thing is that after the first few chapters my i kindof ran out of ideas. I have a few but only for the latter of my fic and it would be kindof odd if i went from not even a badge to the climax. I kown that this happens to all authors but i was wondering if anybody can tell me what they do when they expirence this state of writing.

please help

I think long and hard about good things to add. or make a massive build-up to whatever you've planned.

Sometimes Writer's Block is caused by ideas that have no way of fitting into the fic, so sometimes I write that idea down (it could also turn into a fic!). Other times I just go about everyday life- watching TV, reading books, drawing, going to school- eventually some sort of inspiration will come up if you look in the right place. Think about what would be expected in a story and add twists. Or read other works to help you get ideas or certain wordings you might wanna use.

It's what I usually do. While I was writing YNA, I got clogged up and wrote Sayuri to release myself. When ideas for both YNA and Sayuri were clogged up, I wrote a shipfic with the ideas that blocked me.

Hope this helps!

I turn on my music, close my eyes, and sit out on my swing in my backyard. Sometimes, being out there in the wee hours of the morning stimulates the brain.

Other times, if I'm stuck in one fic, I just write in another fic. Which causes multiple problems, as it makes me tired, or I run out of time to write in them all.

Ooo, writers block. *shudders* The idiodical illness that I've had for the past few months. *sighs* I just can't write! At all. Nothing. Zilch. Nadda.
I've just been trying to find a story to follow but I just can't seem to. I jump around on different plots and I just can't sink my teeth into any one. My advice to you would to be to just write the first thing that comes to your mind. That's what I did when I had writers block in LTHTH. Any random idea or fact that jumps into your mind just put it down on paper. Eventually it'll come to you. Or you can get on the computer with the intention of beginning your new chapter and just stare at the computer screen until something comes to you. That helps...well it helps me at least. From there I can usually get a few pages in before I have to repeat the process.

When writers block got especially severe however I would turn arund and work on something else. For instance, the summer of 2004 I began a new fic, but my old fic eventually lured me back in the fall where I began to work on rewriting it. That turned into a year long project which I finally completed in the fall of 2005. Now I'm stuck. So I feel your pain. I really do. Man, I really hate writers block...

Dang, I hate writers block! Well, if I ever do get stressful with Wrter's block, then I would take a short break from the story and then back back to it. So far when I was writing "Heart of the Sea" there were times when I looked back at one scene I would like change it if I do not like it. Sometimes it is a good idea to change a scene but do not do it too much. (That is what happened to me while writing one of my novels and then I was so unhappy about it that I quit the project all together).

Usually if you just relax or read a book or something, an idea will hit you that might help. That's what I usually do ^_^
