Wynaut/Wobbuffet: Good Contest PKMN, or Dumb Idea

Something got me thinking recently: wouldn't Wynaut/Wobbuffet make good contest choices in the anime? If you get past the appeal round (which could be done with another PKMN), then wouldn't they be (near) invincible? When your opponent calls an attack, you just call Counter/Mirror Coat to stop it and reflect it back. Wouldn't they be near invincible?

Why just contests? Wobbufet is a good battler in general. However, Jessie doesn't know how to use it effectively.

Well, it could work both ways. Wynaut/Wobbuffet would be good because like you said, they can counter/mirror coat any attack. But, they could also be bad because they would just counter, which probably wouldn't make them that appealing. But I guess if appeal doesn't matter in battle, then it would make them invincible.

Unless you had a really good idea, I wouldn't recommend they be used in the appeal round. In battle, though, they'd shine.

Actually, Wynaut might be able to use Charm to charm the audience, then maybe do an encore for itself... with those two moves, Wobbuffet/Wynaut has a slim chance of getting past the first round.

actually, [spoil]Musashi did use Sounansu in a contest battle against Harley. Harley, however, was aware that if he attacked, he'd only be countered. Since contest battles are based on appealing as well as damaging the opponent, Sounansu was at a complete disadvantage. After a bit of a stand-off, Harley got the idea to have Ariados use its webbing, rather than use a damaging attack, and play with Sounansu like a puppet, causing Musashi to lose points.[/spoil] With that said, Sounansu is a horrible choice for contest battles, and would probably do better in appeals.
