Hey guys,

I was just wondering if there is anyway possible to play 3DS games like Pokemon X and Y on a normal DS system?

Sorry, it won't work. A DS wouldn't understand the code in a 3DS game because the game wasn't made for it.

The cartridge physically can not fit in the slot in a DS.

The DS isn't powerful enough to run 3DS games. The 3DS is roughly powerful as the Wii is. The DS is roughly the same as the Nintendo 64.

The 3d element is actually optional in most 3DS games. X & Y actually turns 3d off most of the time. Plus Nintendo has release a console that doesn't have a 3D screen.
