X-Men Legends II:Rise of Apocalypse

I was just wondering if anyone else has this game and if you've beat it yet!?
Cause I'm on the end getting ready to fight Apocalypse, and the character's that I chose are Wolverine,Colossus,Juggernaut, and Magneto. These 4 are at level 40 something and the others are at level 30 something. Is this a good team up or should I use a different team. Also, how hard is it to beat Apocalypse? Also the bonus portal for the last level or mission or whatever, I tried doing that bonus mission, and when I lit two fire things and walked into the center, Magneto and Juggernaut died and dissappered, next it was Colossus, so I quickly ran back to the portal and revived those three. I don't understand this bonus portal can someone explain this bonus portal for me.
Thanks! :) ;munchlax;

I liked using Wolverine too. He has the healing factor and all. My characters were higher level (48) when I finished the game, but I don't think it matters so much. Some key points to remember are destroy statues. They can come back to haunt you. Definitely jump into the gene pool (which helps with the statues.) You can't access certain areas without it. Otherwise, you will need Nightcrawler (who can teleport.) But you don't have a lot of time to do that while Apocalypse is wailing on you. BTW, don't know if you found out about combined team mates, but I had Colossus, Juggernaut, Rogue, & Wolverine on my team. They made the Bruiser Brigade. Rogue is a good flyer. Love her Torpedo attack.

As to your other question . . . . . Hmmmm. Dunno why you insta-died. I think you are in the area where you get Tony Stark. If you found all the pieces of his armor and bring them to him, then he becomes Iron Man and will join the team. I don't remember exactly what you do, but I do remember it was a circle and there were 4 things in total that you had to do (well, besides Tony Stark and the pieces.) Your map is your friend there. Definitely cool to have Iron Man on your team. IIRC, there are 2 bridges you gotta make or fly over pits. Maybe that's where you are dying? Hmmm. Little more info might help.

When you finish the game, you can go back to earlier missions if you like and keep playing. I have my main team up to 67th level now. Also, if you complete the Danger Room, you can unlock Professor X as a player. He's definitely a fast hitter. His speed is through the roof. I also unlocked Dark Phoenix. Inferno is awesome. Consume Room is over the top.)

Thanks for replying back, I actually went ahead and tried to defeat Apocalypse, but he wooped my *** BAD! Him, Colossus's brother, and Holocaust, and possibly Archangel. Plus I ran out of Health Paks, next I ended up with Wolverine and I think either Colossus or Juggernaut, then Apocalypse cornered Wolverine and beat him to a pulp with help from Colossus's brother, and Holocaust, while I watch Colossus or Juggernaut die. It was a HUGE mess. I'll try leveling my team up and use Rogue next time. :)

For your second question, It's pretty much what I said, After killing the Anubis guys I touched a bird statue and it lit a torch in the middle, next I went around and killed the others and touched the another bird statue and it lit another torch in the middle, next I used Magneto to fly over the spot where you can build a bridge and I made it to the middle which I found nothing except another torch that wasn't lit and called to my team and switched to Wolverine, and that's when I noticed that Magneto and Juggernaut died(basically disappeared), I don't know what happened, next I noticed Colossus was gone(disappeared)! that's when I high tailed out of there. I'm still confused about that.

Also, how do you bring up the screen where it shows you EVERYTHING you collected on each level like Iron Man's Armor, Comic Books, Homing Beacons, Danger Room Disks, etc. etc. I remembered seeing it before, but I can't seem to find it. :(

Also, Who's Inferno?

Apocalypse isn't a cake walk. You gotta use the machine (like him,) so that you can get the power to destroy the statues (I think you gain the regeneration ability too.) When you walk around, the power coming off of you will destroy anything above it. The statues will become the horsemen again if you didn't destroy it in the first place. Also, once you get the power, you gain the ability to use Quicksilver's move. That can destroy the gates. You go through the gate and get to the generators. There are 2 generators. Once you destroy them, you make Apocalypse vulnerable (he just keeps regenerating in the machine otherwise.) I liked using Rogue cause I tweaked out her flying power and it almost cost me nothing to fly. It gave me a few seconds, cause Apocalypse can't seem to hit anything in the air.

Ok, I had something similar happen to me in regards to the bridge. I dunno why they suicide themselves sometimes, but if you fly over a gap and the crew can't go around it, they try to jump across. Thereby plummeting to their death. There are 4 of those deals you have to light. That's why I was saying that using your map could help. You can see the ones you finished and see where you gotta go to do the other 2. I think breaking something on the other 2 will light the deal, but I can't remember. Don't forget that Magneto can build a bridge too. You use his magnetic power (can't remember the name of it,) but it'll help keep your dudes from dying (maybe.)

Ok, the last question is you need to check out the Review Computer. You can either use the option at the opening screen or you have to go to the computer in the game in order to watch cinematics and see how much you have completed everything. I found out about the homing beacons early on and also learned about the Iron Man armor way in the beginning. So, I didn't leave an area until I had them. I missed out on some comic book stuff, but got most of the missions. All-in-all, it was a really cool game. Just found out that there will be an X-Men 3 game out in June too. Ebgames is already accepting pre-orders. As for Inferno, it is just a power move that the Dark Phoenix has. It burns stuff in the room. Pretty cool really. Uses up a bit of power though. You should try it out sometime. Mikey likes it.)

I've been the Machine, It's just after I destroy the Generators THAT'S when he starts whoopng my ***, and that's when I start using my health paks until I have zero. :( So, once I use the machine and go around and destroy the statues that will become his replica Horsemen, I won't have to face them after I destroy the generators? COOL! :D

I didn't know Magneto could build bridges! It's not Metalicmayhem is it!? AWESOME!!! :D

I knew I saw it on the opening screen, but I think it shows me something different now. Where's the computer in the game?

How did you unlock Dark Phoenix? Isn't that a costume that Jean wears in the game?

Also, How did you find out about the next X-Men 3 game!?

Yep. That's why I was saying it was cool that I went around the room and destroyed the statues. I never had to face the horsemen.

I learned early on that Magneto could build bridges. I was using Rogue to fly across, but there was a tip in the Dead Zone that you can build a bridge. Kept going through people until I got frustrated and tried using Magneto. Can't remember the power he used, cause that was a long time ago. I don't use him and traded him out early on as I liked other characters.

What you are looking for on the splash screen is simply Review. When you open that up, it will show you what you have unlocked. The Review computer is in every home base. At the last homebase, it is behind Forge.)

You unlock Dark Phoenix by playing the Dark Phoenix playable comic mission. Once you complete it, she is available to use as a team player. Her X-treme power does Inferno across the room. It can also build bridges. Kills just about everything on the screen (in my game anyways.) I dunno. I like the Phoenix animations when she activates her powers though. Nothing spectacular, just like seeing the Phoenix image.

As for X-Men 3, there was a flyer available at Ebgames. I was telling the guy at the store that I had finished X-Men II and was looking for another game kinda like it. That's when he told me X-Men III would be coming out in June. He was saying I could put some money down to pre-order it. There is gonna be a character exclusive to each game port though. The only one I can remember is Magneto is exclusive to the Nintendo DS. Doesn't appear there will be a PSP version, so I'm a bit disappointed with that. My version of X-Men II was on PSP. Anyways, that's all I have about the info though.

AWESOME!!! :D I'll try destroying the statues!:D
I have the strategy guide for this game, which REALLY comes in handy, I looked at Magneto's bio in the guide, I did find an attack that fits the description that he could build bridges, but I'm not positive.

I'll try the computer in the home base.

As for Dark Phoenix, I don't think I'm able to unlock her, cause I have the GameCube version.

That's AWESOME that there will be an X-Men Legends 3 coming in June; Can't hardly wait! :D

Well, hope that what I told ya helps ya out. Dunno about Dark Phoenix. I got the X-Men I game for the Gamecube, but didn't get the X-Men II game. I just knew that I liked the X-Men I game is why I got the X-Men II for the PSP. I didn't have a lot of titles that I really liked. It fit in pretty good. Got a friend at work that is just starting to play it (he's playing my copy.) He likes it enough that he's thinking about picking it up for his X-box console. ;o) It's a cool game.

Dunno about X-Men III. I've been finding out more info about it now. Apparently, you are gonna have 3 characters to use. You get Wolverine, Iceman, & Nightcrawler. They say it's gonna be an in-between game. It's covering the time from where X-Men II left off (movie) and where X-Men III is gonna start up (movie.) So, it looks like there's only gonna be 4 characters in it. The 4th being the exclusive character to the platform. They want to concentrate on the character more, so they will have different abilities. Like, Nightcrawler can attack & teleport at the same time. Also, he can cling to walls like Spider-Man and can jump as expected. Playtesters say it seems somewhat believable. It doesn't appear to be coming out for the PSP, so I will wait and see how it plays. I can't see how it'll be all that special with just 4 characters though. Hopefully that article was wrong.

Thanks for ALL your help, I really appreciate it! :D

I read exactly what you said about that game, and I agree I can't see how it'll be that special with just 4 characters either. That article better be wrong. :)

One more thing, Rogue is on level 32, do you think she would be ok when I use her to defeat Apocalypse, or should I bring her out an level her up, so she would be in the 40's just like Wolverine,Colossus,Juggernaut, and Magneto!?

I dunno. If you keep her out of most of it, she could do ok. I think you're gonna be struggling to keep her alive though. 32 isn't that high. I'd recommend leveling up a bit. Course, since you have a save game, it couldn't hurt to try it out 1st and see how far you get. Might give you a better idea of how high to go. Her Torpedo strike gets much stronger the more points you put into it. I torque'd it out and kill most things with 1 attack. Plus, you have more Energy points at higher levels which means you can use her abilities more often. If you don't raise her up, you will need all the energy packs you can carry.
