XBox or PS2?

Its almost time
Soon enough all three current big systems will be pushed away by the Revolution, PS3 and XBox 360. I already have a Gamecube but I am now thinking about getting another system while I still can.

So which one is better? My friends tell me the PS2 is better by saying it can play DVDs which I do know but doesn't the XBox also play DVDs? I also understand that XBox doesnt have loading screens, is that true? Which one would be cheaper today?

Xbox has loading screens and you have to buy some sort of item for it to play dvd's.But if you want to play online games buy it 85% of the games xbox and 360 get go online.But the PS2 has really good games most RPG or shooting games and like 5-15% of the games go online.I have the 360 and PS2(for kingdom hearts 2)
You can get a used PS2 for 100$ or used Xbox for 120$

I don't even care about DVD compatibility. Infact, all I really want to play is GTA: SA :p.

But I'll get more games for it.

I'm not into the Xbox or the Xbox 360. Same goes with other American made Video Game systems. Except for Playstation, though. Nintendo and Sony were geniouses while Microsoft and Xbox wasn't very good.

The PS2 is the home for RPG's, if you have a interest in them go for that. I personally prefer the XBox and XBL. Just make a list of the games you intend to get and go from there

That is a tough question. Let's see, the Xbox has tons of great online games and is home to Halo 2,while the PS2 has tons of great RPGs and is home the Kindom Hearts games. I would go with Xbox.

Specs wise and brand quality (Yes I'm saying Microsoft is the better one for once) X Box is better. People just take the Playstation because it has a heap of games and it's lighter. But better performance lies in X Box, not to mention it already has a harddisk.

The only thing you need to play DVDs on an X Box is the remote and port for it. They aren't that expensive, IIRC. And some packs even distribute the remote with it.

I'd personally go with the PS2, due to its abundance of Japanese RPGs.

Well XBOX can play DVD. Xbox has better graphics. Xbox 360 has even better graphics. How do i know this? I have both systems. Trust me, Microsoft is the way of the future! lol. Oh and Xbox is pretty cheap these days now. They are like $120-$150 for a brand new XBOX.

I'd go with a PS2. It has a large game library, with many good games. However, if online play is your thing, you should go with the Xbox.

I guess I'll go for the PS2. XBox sounds nice without the memory cards but I'll pass.

If I can afford it I'll get GTA SA, Kingdom Hearts 2 and Resident Evil 4 with it.

Why not get the GC version? It should be cheaper and it's the superior version

I would hardly call them features, more like extras. Maybe it's just me but the FMV's in the cutscenes just don't seem right when compared to the GC's cutscenes

If you want good graphics and top noch online gaming, go for the Xbox. If you prefer a robust, good vairety of games for almost every age group go for the PS2. IMO, I think the PS2 is better than the Xbox but one of the only reasons i would buy an Xbox is for Halo and a few other games.
